I tried to love it Rob I really did I had moments I properly loved it and spent way to much money on it but 80% of the time I was kidding myself spending thousands to make myself feel better lol, either way I don't regret buying it or experiencing the B7 she's a bit to dated on the interior now but exterior still a lovely looking car you defiantly forget its 15+ years old, without sounding up my own a$$ coming from a fully loaded E class estate it never compared spec or feel wise and I really miss that luxury feeling and just the space in general obviously there not comparable cars but that's the situation I was in at the time and the B7 was the best choice for my budget after the silver arrow died, my hearts always been with Mercedes since i was a kid so it only makes sense to get back in a newer one, never the less I met a load of great people here and ill always pop in and say hello and help out where I can as plenty of you have helped me out along the near 2 and half years of ownership and frankly its been an awesome experience and a great forum, thanks everyone
Each to there own I don't think you can disregard a brand by driving one car for 5 minutes and if you are an Audi fan boy your defiantly miss out on experiencing some nice cars along the way, saying that the c class has never appealed to me there same as the a4 and 3 series the older ones are all built on a budget (interior wise lots of plastic) and spec options are very limited or rare to find hence why I like the next size up like the E, A6 ect I'm not a fan of bmw's either the interiors haven't changed since the 80's, I was tempted by an sq5 really nice looking cars and love the bitdi engine but found a nice 2014 E350 amg sport saloon in diamond white I couldn't say no to.
That's a facelift one you should see the pre facelifts lol
No plans to part company with mine, i have the occasional " shall I sell it" moment but that's been going on for the last 7 years..lol
And now I've lashed out on an old and beaten up mk1 TT I'm even less likely to sell the B7 , long live the old bus.
I've had the " better car itch " so many times over the years and scratched it , its full circle time again.
Guess its what you want from a car Rob as a kid I loved everything about the 90's cars and when I passed my test about 8 years ago I always wanted a Jap car something old school and the Supra or Evo was the one I wanted,, Supra prices went sky high and I opted for a Honda Accord Type R over the Evo at the time as I've always been a big fan of Hondas absolutely loved that car and still one of my favourites to this day out of all the cars I've drove over my lifetime but I'm at a time now where I want something nice and modern to sit in and feel nice to drive yet look smart, luxury and fast all in the same package and you cant compare with the newer cars for that all in one offer hence the move for me.Sorry chaps, new and modern is not always better.

, and since I've refrained from messing around too much with it, life with it has become much more user friendly.
When the kids are a few years older me and the Mrs are getting a van something along the mwb high top transit ish route and converting it, not many things compare to living on the road and having everything you need in a confined space either I'm crazy or its the traveller in my blood but either way nothing compares to a good road trip to know where creating memories!I’m a slave without any time to do what I want to do to it . Lol and now thinking of a new project before I’ve even started doing the forged bottom end and K04 conversion

) ****** me off frequently these days. with 315K on the clocks and the condition it is there´s not much resale value anyways Truth is I still like the B7, the way it handles, drives, the power options it has once tuned, and most importantly it still have the looks.. unlike some newer cars, so I intend to keep it as long it lives.
done the wheels ,stereo system done , got the cruise stalk and trip meter / indicator stalk just have to fit and get coded at work but twin exhaust and front grill are next but i see that the Sline B7 is limited make your own or Spend silly money on a RS4 one so make my own it is
