Changing front brake pads

Got a 2018 A4 2.0 petrol auto.

Car is nagging hat the front pads are on their limit. They are ok at the moment, but it’s almost time to change. Are they easy enough to change? I’ve always done them on many cars, but never an Audi, any special tools required?

The car is out of warranty now, so not worried about voiding that.

Any recommendations on make of pads to buy, or to avoid.

I did mine 2 weeks ago my self and tbh its the easiest set I've ever done.

You only need a couple of spanner (15mm and 13mm I'm sure for caliper (if not that's the rear)and 19mm or 22mm for carrier) 7mm Allen key. I'm sure that's all I needed.

I did my rear and front on same day so cant remember what's what Haha.

TRW pads if you want OE spec. Normally cheap to buy as well.

Looking into this myself too, what do you mean by nagging?

Ive priced up Brembo and Textar which I found to be the actual pads supplied to Audi for the S4 (in my case).

By nagging I mean every time the car is started it beeps, and a warning message is put on the dashboard, stating front pads at the wear limit.

Ill look into pads locally, tools and ability are not an issue, I hope

So looking at TRW pads on onlinecarparts, entering the reg number and I get two versions, a 338 and @ 350mm diameter. Any clues as to how to find the right ones? Thought reg number would have given it away.

Any other recommended suppliers?

So if you look in your cars instruction booklet it will show a sticker, this will include PR codes. The listing will include a PR Code which will match.

Otherwise give your VIN to the company they should be able to sort it.

Quick update. All done today. Got some Brembo pads with cable for warning. Turns out that the .co.uk site I used, they came over from Germany. No issues with fitting, just needed a 7mm Allen key, two bolts, job done. Saved me a few hundred pound. Thanks for the tips above

I did the same, fitted a full set of Brembo. Bite and performance is great at a 50% of the cost of Audi parts.
