Hi guys as title suggests I’m thinking of selling my S4 B9 and buying a 2016 Rs3 ? Any owners mind sharing their thoughts or those who have had both whats the real world performance diff like ? Is it noticeably different . Main reason I want an Rs3 is for the beautiful sound .
Thx

But the FL 17 onwards, less chance of buying a lemon that’s been abused.

Bit out of budget for a good spec FL and plus the PFL sounds better .

PFL louder for sure and my preference. FL perhaps more "sophisticated" ;)

I went from a PFL S3 to PFL RS3.
The sound alone from the RS3 is worth it.
An event everytime you drive it.

I have a 2016 PFL and agree with the above. I came from a hybrid turbo MK7 Golf R with no engine sound and no soul for me.

The RS some days I feel sounds like a V8 and some days sounds like a V10! Mine is running MRC stage 2 and I don't think I will ever get bored of the car for the sound alone! You'll not regret it imo!!

Nice one Chris - I’m hoping to pick mine up this Wednesday. How are you finding it so far?
Loving it mate honestly such an improvement over my Previous S4 B9 (apart from the interior ) . The sound is excellent and addictive . Performance is it’s noticeably quicker and the gearbox is super quick especially on kickdown . Being Nardo with a Pan roof it gets a lot of attention and compliments when on the road however does seem to attract idiots who love to tailgate trying to incite you into a race . I just ignore them I know what I’ve got and don’t need to prove to anyone how good the cars performance is .

I came from an S4 Avant (B9) and definitely miss the interior where the RS3 is a step down but the RS feels a much more special car as you’d expect.

Same here with the idiots wanting to race!

Interestingly though the kick down in the RS3 is very slow unless in manual mode and using the paddles as well documented, compared to the S4 which I found was a great and responsive gear box on kick down, RS3 is more aggressive once the turbo spools up and gives you a big whallop: )

Enjoy the motor, no regrets here changing to the RS3 after 1 1/2yr ownership.

Cheers mate I do love it a lot I had a B9 S4 saloon and in the 3 years I had it got a few idiots trying to get you to floor it and tailgate you . In the Rs3 I’m finding it a daily occurrence I think it’s the colour and the reputation the car has . The S4 was a fantastic car in the 3 years I had it do prefer the RS though :) .
