What is the easiest method to determine what is fitted to a car from factory? My code listing shows 1N3 Speed-related variable steering assist (Servotronic) fitted to my bus.
It's a Clutch masters kit. I think the 450fx or something like that. It should say it on the first page of the build i believe.that huge... what flywheel and clutch are you using ? as im looking to replace mine when i do my rebuild
I've been running WMI for like 7 years. It's very safe and easy to use. Usually people who say it's dangerous have never used it before, they just make that up.Love this thread!
Keep looking at the turbine and compressor wheels in the post above. They make my K04 look so tiny ha ha.
Keep us updated on the WMI. I’m thinking of adding it to mine at some point and would like to get some ‘real world’ feedback on what it’s like to live with etc
Honestly the only real danger is inhalation. You have to vent the tank out of the car so the tank doesn't get messed up by collapsing on itself. Mine is in the trunk and i have a new that runs to the wheel well and vents there.Only thing I’m concerned about is that it burns with no flame and the thought of having it in the boot right behind my kids scares me, a lot!
Where is your tank mounted? I know some people use the windscreen washer reservoir.
I've looked into it very little and someone could do that too. I just fine that getting meth and distilled water is much easier than trying to get someone to fill a nitrous tank. The concept is very similar, you just have to decide whether to do a wet **** or dry shot.what about some nitrous oxide injection on your B7 Edgar.
Haha! Yea, just one or two extra.I think that rim may need a few extra balancing weights..lol
No. Never figured it out. I tried putting in the RS4 brake booster but you need the RS4 master cylinder as well. I might take that on later this year but i just put it to the side for now.Did you ever sort the spongey braking?
After doing discs and pads mine was spongey after bleeding it 10 times, in the end adjusting the handbrake tension fixed it. I can only presume it takes up some pre-travel
Haha. Thanks Rob. It's taken a lot of time and money from my life but i don't have any other vices really. Can't say it's for everyone as there are definitely other cars that you can make big power in and not try as hard but i really enjoy this car.Just happened to click this thread when it appeared in recent posts, and despite it delaying bedtime by quite a bit, I'm really glad I did. What an epic build.
I'm not here much these days, apart from when the server needs moar swearing (I'm very good at swearing), but threads like this could easily give me the bug again. Champion stuff, Edgar. Thanks for documenting it all.
Rob.
P.S. I was convinced that by page eight I would've read: "So I got a deal on a roof rack and a low-miles CFM56..."

Hope you're able to find that passion and keep your car going.

The love (as I believe other Rob put it earlier in the thread) you've put in is plainly visible; reading the story so far in one go, following you work through the challenges, only more so. It might be possible to get similar numbers from other machines with less effort, but there's probably less fun too, and I'm sure less of a sense of achievement. I'm a big B7 fan as well - chiefly on the grounds that it strikes a good balance of modernity and mod-ability. I'd still like a TFSI quattro at some point (I had a B5 TQS and it made a big impression).Haha. Thanks Rob. It's taken a lot of time and money from my life but i don't have any other vices really.
