I’m planning a few mods on mine, probably end of may delivery though.

Cat/PPF back exhaust - manufacturer not decided yet

Upgraded front brakes - 380mm looking at Racingline

Many more engine related racing line parts potentially but considering revo for some.

Always wanted a big turbo conversion. Looking into that.

Remap - again racingline/revo.

I’m a fan of oem+. All research at the moment though.

Had my MK5 Golf GTI stage 2 so have done it before.

All the best for collection day tomorrow

Let us know if you experience any of the common problems on your newer build, i'm hoping a lot of these common faults have been rectified now.

sounds awesome, I’m a complete newbie with mods but luckily have a group of car enthusiasts for friends so hopefully should be covered lol

are these for an A3 or S3 that you’re planning?

congrats bud - make sure to give it a good once over, easy to forget in all of the excitement :)

try opening and closing the passenger door to see if it hangs on the latch and whether you have to push it significantly harder than the other doors to close it.

p.s we've got some interesting mods coming soon to the youtube channel!

mate, your videos helped me sooo much in making the decision to go for the edition 1!! (Over the s line)

And yes I’m gonna give it a thorough test and inspection with all the faults I’ve seen online.

S3 Saloon. Wanted the Saloon when I got my 8V S3 in 2014 but was just out of my budget.

Collected it yesterday, still trying to figure out most of the functions on there. Trying to figure out firstly how to keep the ambient lighting on during the day?!

also the wing mirrors don’t have the light thingy on the inside of the mirror, so trying to figure out what’s missing...

And finally, MMI running older software so unable to use car play wirelessly.

other than that, cars absolutely amazing, managed to drive it from stoke back to London so was a great drive back.

Just added the first mod (well not really a mod but lol) by installing a dash cam today.

More to come :rockwoot:

Hey bro,

Over the moon with the purchase, sad to not have some extra features but can live without them having got the main ones I was after.

Watched your ‘wireless car play’ video last night and unfortunately my one has an older software. I did spot the software upgrade option on the MMI so hoping there’s an update in the future.

Congratulations. The wireless car play should be standard on your car! I got mine in Feb and I have it.

cheers.

How the hell do you have older software on a 2021 vehicle? Anything past October 2020 should have wireless carplay, do you have the third screen on the MMI?

The car isn’t completely brand new, 1k miles on the clock, used as a demo car.

I believe it was first registered on the toad in December 2020. But when I checked the date of the firmware it stated 2019?!

Third screen?

If you want my advice stick with the Oct 19 software. All my problems with my mmi started after I asked for it to be updated.
The third page is what I was wanting but after having a loan car with it my personal opinion is it’s not really worth the hassle I’ve been through and I’ve had to be without my car three times now the last time for two weeks.

Possibly built before as it was a demo car. I second Sam's comments from what I've seen there's slightly more issues on the newer wireless carplay compatible software /mmi - mine on the oct2019 isn't that bad and has only once reboot on me

Ahh okay. I’ll hold out for a while longer then until they ‘hopefully’ fix it. Doesn’t bother me too much in connecting the phone via cable. And how on earth do I turn on the cruise control? Everytime I’ve tried it refers me to users manual?!

I had a interesting chat with a senior tech when we went to pick up my partner's car from the local Audi dealership last week. We got talking about s/w upgrades and he was saying that they never do updates purely at the request of the customer (e.g. to get a new MMI feature etc) because experience has shown that this can often cause interference with other modules, which can then leave the customer with a real problem. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" seems to be the reasoning. They will only do MMI software updates, for example, if specifically requested to do so by 'Audi central' (e.g. a recall situation) or if its an official recommended action to cure a very specific problem (such as random re-booting, etc). And he was saying that the 'software fix' usually involves updating several other modules to 'maintain compatibility'. Having worked in software development most of my life I can understand why they are reluctant to touch it! Very easy to get on a "downward spiral"!

The update was done at the request of Audi digital , my car was built on the software change over date in September and they said the car was built with the incorrect software. That was the start of the problems and I agree it’s been a downwards spiral .
Touch wood since I got it back on Friday I’ve only had a small issue but nothing like I’ve had in the past two months.

I've had similar, only on mine it sometimes works.

As far as I understand it should just work by pulling the stalk towards the driver. But similar to you, I get the warning that it's not available for no reason.

Had to take my complaint to twitter and they’ve reached out to my local dealer for their service department to get in touch, so let’s see what happens

Yea works by pulling the stalk towards you then pressing the button on the end in to set the speed. Knocking it up or down adds or removes 1 mph, holding it up or down adds or removes 5mph

Just tested it a little while ago and it works! Lol.

@auzzam_crd, I got that SOS malfunction message a little while ago, did you manage to get a solution for this?

sadly nothing 100%, I tend to get it every 5/600 miles or so. The good news is its not just A3 specific, but at the same time that means the issue has been around for a while and there is no sure way fix for it other than trial and error.

I know someone who was getting the error pretty much every time he went out, it got a software update installed for the MHEV battery (on the 35tfsi s-tronic cars) and since then its a lot better, but has come up once in 1,000 miles.

Keep an eye on it within the 30 day window bud, sad to say - but people have rejected over the warning lights.

Hopefully your car is not as bad
