Hello everyone!
I have a 2016 RS3 RS Sport exhaust with secondary cats removed and valve plugs do valves constantly open. ECU is stock.
I still want even more sound.
Thinking of gutting resonators or backbox, just afraid of getting the car to sound bad by fiddling with them!

Any ideas are welcome!

More sound?! You must be deaf already ;)

I wish I had the pfl sound on my fl....if you feel the need for more sound I would contact PCW exhausts and have a chat with Paul. You'll get him on Insta

I was going to say secondary cat deletes and a valve controller, then noticed you had already done that. I'd get a hearing aid first before you do anything else lol, must be pretty loud as it is.

Roll down driver side window a bit, and crack open the sunroof if you have it

I think there is a line between having a performance car that sounds great and being a yobbo.

If you want to change your exhaust - fine - anything else you should probably go get an old banger and street race :)

I think my FL RS3 is plenty loud. The neighbours can hear it coming, my dog can hear me coming.

People jump when I start it up and it gets looks even when I am driving slowly. Not to mention the occasional shotgun noises it makes (specially in cold weather like now).

The only things left you could do are go stage 2 with a decat downpipe and/or gut the backbox. I've even seen people remove the backbox entirely and replace it with a Y pipe to the exhaust tips on Golf R's and it makes them immensely loud but haven't heard an rs3 who's had this done.

I had the secondary cat delete and valves permanently open like yourself on my pfl but also with a downpipe and I couldn't pass noise regs at my local dragstrip. For reference it showed 108db.

Primary decat would be the next logical step. This will throw on your EML light though and would benefit greatly from remap. You can get a stage 1 + package which is for primary decats. Or just get an Intercooler and go directly stage 2.

Also, just want to point out that plugging your valves isn’t the best for the car, it puts a fault code on in the background and limits your car top end as ECU has no signal on whether valves are open or not, meaning it can’t know if the exhaust gasses are restricted by closed valves so doesn’t even chance it.

Thanks for answer, as i still want to be stock i think removing primary cat is not an option :/

About the plugs i have bought some fault code terimator plugs that are fitted and should remove these fault codes.

Nothing i really noticed with them on so can't complain hehe

Gutting the resonator / backbox is what im thinking about... Just afraid of big drones

Yeah i know i dont want to be annoyingly loud, but just a little more would not hurt. Thats why a small mod like modifying the resonator / backbox maybe is enough, but then im afraid i will get bad drones.mm

Recently gone Revo Stage 2, from Stage 1, not sure if the remapping or the Milltek Downpipe made the difference.... definitely not looking for more noise!

Got the values open kit, but not fitted yet..... to me it sounds the values are open all the time in dynamic mode, can mapping change it?

Yes, AFAIK valves are normally fully open in most dynamic maps. I doubt you will need to add valve openers....
