I recently freed up my rear brake calipers as they were binding. This morning I've gone for a drive and the heat and smell coming from them was insane. What could this be? Change the pads and rotors??
Cheers

Sounds like calipers are binding again and your disks n pads are too as a result. If you carry on the disks will warp. In my experience once a caliper starts binding it inevitably will again sooner or later. Rebuild or replace.

Do a complete brake rebuild with parts from Bigg Red. If it's not the brake sliders, it's corrosion under the dust sleeve not allowing the piston to retract. Bleed brakes afterwards, furthest wheel from the reservoir a corner at a time.

Use a socket on the brake nipples. Wire brushed and apply Plus Gas or it will sheer.

I think it's corrosion under the sleeve in all fairness. I've got to order rear calipers and brake pads and rotors..... What Allen bit do I need to remove the holder

If you are talking about the caliper bracket you can swap disks without removing it.

Thinking about it I was looking at a repair kit it's a fraction of the price.... Thoughts?

Depends how bad it is. If just a minimal clean up needed of corrosion with new seals clips etc cheap dyi if you have the time. Pistons can sometimes be too far gone to re-use or the bores themselves. In that case a trade in for reconditioned unit if possible is a option to consider. You won't know till you take it apart for sure.

I've decided to buy a complete new setup. Can't be bothered with the hassle of rebuilding it should it then give us the ghost... My rear drivers side was the offending part
