Looking for side skirts

The S-line/S3 lower skirt, marries to the lower S-Line bumper, so probably best to do it all in one.

If you have seen photos of a car with an Sline bumper, without the skirts, it looks a bit odd, so can imagine it would be wierd with just the skirts fited.

I dont have a sline and am not planning on buying a whole new bumper.
I am only buying skirts and grill.

The skirts are part of the S/Line ‘body kit’ which includes the different bumper design as it has a lower profile so the design ‘line’ meets the bumper.

Do you not worry it’ll look a little strange without the bumper?

I don't know, but Audi said these skirts are an optional extra for the non sline so I can't imagine they would look that stupid lol.
I can see what your saying about the bumper matching, but for the skirts and bumper I would be looking at well over £1200.00
In that case I might as well sell my car and buy a sline model.

Yes, I prosume you choose the 'Sline' pack? It comprises of skirts, bumper, rear bumper, badges, maybe some other bits. But if it was an option at purchase, fair enough, just seems odd as the body line on the side will be lower than the front, and possibly rear (I dont know if the Sline rear bumper is also different)

It's designed as a complete package, so just fitting one bit of it dosent make complete sense? Have you got any photos of what it will look like before you go spending?

Id be buying a bumper off eBay already in the correct colour of your car, if it needed a paint, it would be a good base one to start with - less prep for the painter.

Its a fairly repeated comment of just buying a car with a better spec if you are modifying in OEM style to mimic one that already exists. I have a 'never build what you can buy' mantra after spending £££ on Golfs when I was younger making them look like a GTI.

I dunno, just curious really. Obviously do what you need to do.

I could only buy what I could afford, and like most people they cannot afford to just go out and buy a Quattro, S3 or RS3 so all they can do is just buy as best as they can and then as they get a little bit of cash they spend on their pride and joy.

I got an amazing deal on my car, £5000.00 for a 2014 sport model which is what I got from my Total loss 2011 golf , so thats all I had.
If I had another £3000.00 sitting around then I would have bought a quattro, even the Sline was £2000.00 above what I bought my car for.

I like how (Not only you but others on this forum) keep saying over and over and over again, well if your spending that type of money you might as well buy another car, but if you do not have the means to just sell a car, not have transport to look for another car, then constantly being let down by dodgy sales people, it gets draining. You may be left with no car for months before you find the right one, and I live in the country and do not have another car.

I do have pictures of before and will do after, but all in all, the most I will be spending is £1000.00, and the bits I am adding with DJAlex will actually add value come sales time as I have access to the industry glass's guide, not the cheap free version people use. The one I use actually costs thousands of pounds every year to maintain.

Anyway rant over LOL
I do not have the means or money to just sell my car, nor will I be selling it.

That wasn't really what my comment was about. I just didn't see the logic of fitting half a body kit, that's all. I was curious if there was a seperate skirt style without the bumper?

But yes, I've been in your position before. I ended up buying a £250 shed to runaround in till I found the right car. I agree, it was tiresome to say the least! But I did learn from the experience of building what you can buy, as probably have what others have had similar experience with, hence the general consensus. It can become a bit of a money pit.

My car comes up as the same value with and without the £7k of optional extra's it has, options just seem to make a car more desirable come resale time, not something that the industry puts value on massively especially as a trade in value, but Ill definitely be removing the MIB2 unit come sale time.

I neighbour of mine drives a non s-line PFL A3 sportback with side skirts. The side skirts do not look out of place.

Thanks for letting me know, I am going to get the Audi ones, just need to find a good cheap painter in south wales.

Probably be around £450 - 500 by the time I buy the skirts and paint, but think my car is crying out for skirts.

Hey John
Those are the ones Tom at Audi put on for me, but am having second thoughts as it's going to cost me over £500 with paint, and I'm wondering if it's worth it just for side skirts, I'm on the fence.
Thanks for thinking about me though, much appreciated

Their feedback is not looking that great, person saying damaged goods, and another saying poor quality.
But the skirts do look easy to fit, better than the Audi solvents and glue fitting

Just to update
I got pished on Friday night and purchased the Audi ones @£299 + £10 postage.

will let you know once i fit them.

Please do, I've done my honeycomb grill last week, but still on the fence as you could be looking at 500.00 with paint.

Will probs be £5-600 but i think it will be the cheapest option

Buy 2nd hand sline skirts and the brackets that sit under them they are all bashed to bits so probs need filler and a lot more work. Probs £300 minimum anyways

These non sline ones £300, boom straight from Audi, straight as a die, ready for paint, no filling / sanding / priming no bracketry required just some adhesive (thats included)

Do tell more, I still want some, I just didnt pull the trigger on these.
I dont want to be filling so they need to be near mint.
@Peter Peter
They are in mechanics garage, so will have to collect them and take pictures... comes with brackets.. you would have to obviously brush them, prime them and paint to your desired colour.. currently they are in blue color

For a sportback?
I have a sportback 5dr.

I dont think S3 or A3 matters as they are the same dimensions

I will have first refusal please, I am interested.

Thanks @Peter Peter

So you don't want them anymore?
Stick them on ebay, as a complete set you will get some serious cash for them, circa £300 maybe more if someone has a blue A3. I would happily pay a premium for black ones in good condition but they are as rare as hens teeth

The same skirts you are selling brand new from Audi per skirt in primer are £274 a side, that does not include the mounting bracket.

So for 2 skirts its £548
Then you need the mounting brackets, which will be what? £50 each? Maybe £100 each?

then painting on top?

your talking £800-1000 for genuine skirts from audi painted and fitted to your car!

hence i will stick by my statement that even at £300 painted sideskirts in great condition with mounting brackets is a steal.

OK so find me individual who will buy it for grand I will get them ready ... I will bet with you for that grand nobody will buy it ..
Nobody care for how much audi selling them for only crazy enthusiasts with tons of monies..
Can u see anyone selling them so expensive on ebay?? no so.. ? This is not about what audi does, they selling all their sht for crazy money. All car manufs.
But ppl here or ebay or fb, buys sht for very cheap and have it refurbished in local garages.
I had them sanded then primed and painted for £40
Some brackets £10 each... many crapyards has tons of spare parts selling cheap..

Okay Peter Pan

Cool story bro

What story man, this is real truth ... Those who buys directly from audi and don't care about price are ppl who don't know what to do with their monies.. And they will never visit this site or will go on sht ebay or fb market etc.. They never search for used parts..
But us here, scavengers think how we spend money and how much and still can have parts done and refurbished to pristine condition (sometimes better than from factory) and for acceptable price.. but if I put some skirts for £300 on these sites nobody will ever buy it today ... Not many ppl looking for these car parts.. THey wll rather go on expensive websites and buy brand new ..
Look for example rear diffuser here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/494508078624688/ only £50 that's amazing price .. Audi? £400? only stupid would buy at audi or rich... Here skirts : https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1080360242482681/ same price as mine £100 somone selling on ebay for £200 here : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A3-...020486?hash=item4da69146c6:g:oI0AAOSwT~NeOzLE
But nobody will buy from him if they see another seller for £100 as these ppl who looking for car parts most likely will be refurbished , sanded primed and painted..

CanadaA3wales the bonding stuff u mentioned earlier on, not sure about that but you 100% need the black coloured brackets, those clip onto your car, you bond them on or screw them on which is what I did. I got my skirts for £80 in my body colour and the brackets direct from Audi for £100
