Facelift Unitronic Inlet elbow

I'm curious if there is any advantage to an aluminium elbow over the forge silicone one? Are they at all flexible? As it is a softer material I wonder if it doesn't transmit as much vibration though the brake servo if they do touch?

I just wasn't keen on replacing an OEM ally part with a silicone one. The Unitronic also retains the OEM bolts which helps reduce the risk of them coming loose which other products have suffered.

A lot of messing about to try get a part work that was never designed to fit a rhd car

Kudos for the psa, best stick with forge or if you’re anti silicone, spring for the eventuri

No problems here.......

The Forge isn’t without its issues.

Exactly. Forge has been known to collapse under vacuum. I know of two cars suffered this and I actually requested the design changed and was. I know of Eventuri issues also..

End of the day its a tight space and some tweaking is required. I defo think dogbone upgrade or insert is a good call to reduce engine movement.

Dogmount insert installed - problem solved for me. 3 minute job £45 part. :yahoo:

Exactly this.

The space is incredibly tight, fit the Unitronic correct and there are Zero issues.

I need to improve flow into the turbo so decided to order the Forge 3.5” elbow.

Fitting at the weekend followed by logging and Stage2 tweaking

The Eventuri has a notch on its side to give clearance I’ve noticed, possibly to clear AC pipe ?

Forge went on, but looking at the fitment I’m not convinced enough to leave it on, so off it came.
It was touching the chassis and brake servo.

No amount of adjustment gave clearance of any kind.

Yea that's no good imo, yes it is silicone so better than metal in terms of having some give but it must get seriously tweaked under throttle.

Mines almost as tight as yours T-1000, maybe a 1/4" gap at most. Are you using a forge intake pipe as well? Seems to me that mine is rotated a little bit more than yours, and I suppose it might be down to how it mates up with the intake pipe as to how much you can rotate it forward. About 4000 miles on mine and many many launches and so far so good. I've only had one noticeable "clunk" on a particularly good launch that was felt though the pedals and I figure was it hitting. Not ideal, but certainly makes the advertised power. No love for RHD cars from the aftermarket is there?

I tried rotating it but it pushes into the cam solenoid on number 2 cylinder.

I’m not comfortable with it beating the end of the brake servo everytime it’s floored.

It’s going back. I’m in discussion with a guy in Oz who has fitted loads of the 4” Eventuri elbows with no fouling on anything.

REVO also have one coming hopefully soon..

Thanks @T-1000 for posting all of this. I'm in the process of parts listing for my upgrades over the course of this year when warranty is up and was leaning toward the eventuri solution despite it being a good deal more spendy. I'd be very interested in your thoughts if you head down this route. Do you mind me asking which intake you're running?

3.5” Forge Hardpipe (did have one of the 1st HG hard pipes but the mounting nut bracket wasn’t perfect so took it off)
Standard air box but with the flap taken out

Yeah, mines uncomfortably close to the cam solenoid also. Still it seems to work without issue so not going to overthink it too much. Bouncing off the booster shouldn't do any harm or hurt performance, as long as the TIP doesn't pop off the turbo... I'd guess most of us running the forge TIP are right up against it, and none the wiser for not seeing or feeling it. Sounds like you've firmly decided against it. My pockets weren't deep enough to go eventuri, but that will be a beautiful setup if you go that route with elbow and intake (Unless you plan to neck down form the 4" TIP to the forge intake?). Very good to hear the eventuri that it fits without issue, especially considering the diamaeter. Thanks for sharing the info.

I have the forge inlet and it does cause vibration through the break peddle, went back to the guys who fitted it and said it was all good but still vibrates. Forge isn’t metal so was hoping it wouldn’t cause any issues other than wear away abit of the outer surface.

Yes, it has been designed specifically for RHD cars. Not seen any development from them for an LHD one, though that is easy.

Lol Christ Forge are hard work when you want to return something. Virtually ignore you. Had to resort to PayPal.

Any idea on pricing?

I was all set to order up the forge inlet and hard pipe combo

Not far off Eventuri money then .

I'll need to make my mind up before I book into MRC for mapping

Eventuri £100 more.

Reason I’m not going Eventuri is I don’t like the clamp design onto the turbo flange and I’m concerned how strong it is when tightening those clamps onto it.

I like the fact the Revo bolts directly onto the the turbo like the Unitronic I’ve currently got on.

Guarantee that this fits RHD. Its been on both the Revo DAZA and DNWA cars for ages with no issues. Its a great peice of kit. But as always, forge and unitronic items are available and perform well.

Well done for taking the plunge! I will be interested to hear how this works out, seeing as we've both on the Unitronic 3". I have felt the car might have made a tiny step back vs the forge inlet, not enough to warrant change, but the 4" I hope will. The Eventuri does look like a smoother transition, that is quite an ugly inlet from Revo and doesn't look that flow-friendly to be honest... but if it performs I'd go for the cast option too, I presume they put some time into testing it vs Eventuri

Any idea when details will be on Revo website?

Found fitting instructions for it but can find it listed for sale

What sort of improvement do you get from the inlet, are the gains noticeable driving.

Email Revo they’ll put your name on one I bet when released.
