Define accident! Over there (Switzerland), and the reason why i posted my post earlier in the thread, an accident nearly never exists. There is always a reason, always blame and a cause. Call it harsh, but its actually true. It’s a little along the lines of when in football someone misses and we say “bad luck”. It wasn’t bad luck! They didnt miss, they are just rubbish! Same as driving, do accidents exist? In this case the driver in question went out in summer tires, hit ice/snow and crashed! His fault, didnt drive to the conditions and wasn’t equipped for the conditions! If i go outside and slip with my flipflops on is will you say its an accident? Or call me an idiot for wearing summer “shoes” in winter?!! Sorry for being harsh OP, just the way it is! :tearsofjoy:

Why did you wait 3 weeks after reading my post before you came on this thread to spout your judgemental, vitriolic comments??...

Have you only recently adopted someone else's opinion and decided to use it to start an argument?

If we are being judgemental, I expect an HGV driver from Grantham is the least likely person to be adhering social distancing and Covid restrictions...

There will be no more arguments or disagreements. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. We won’t tolerate anyone getting abusive to other members. Editing your original post to make a point is not going to go down well, so don’t do it again.

I like that. Gets back to very simple logical reasoning with cause and effect that can actually relate to anything. love the flip flop analogy but it’s true as there’s a reason or blame for every ‘accident’ nothing happens by chance.
What I’m saying here isn’t a dig at anyone or the OP. just saying what ormesome is saying is very simple and logical.

I had an accident in my crappy A3 in January in light snow doing 10 mph. Corsa ahead began to spin, I went straight on into a kerb and bounced off and slid into the side of the Corsa setting its airbags off. Police man told me to tell the insurance it was the corsas fault but I accepted responsibility. Never had a crash, driven loads of miles in my previous RWD Mercedes in snow and in this A3 it is shockingly bad. Hoped the insurance would write it off so i could buy back and repair and profit off it but they had it repaired.

Could the poor handling in the snow be caused more by the tyres than by the car?
I was in the process of buying some winter tyres for it purely because it was poor in the week leading up to the crash with a bit of slush on the roads. I've never had a problem in snow before. The handling in general is crap and suspension design is very similar to a Mk5 golf.... you'd think that the price Audi sell them for new they would have alloy control arms/drop links. I have no confidence in how the car handles as it rolls, pitches and squats with the front end also feeling light and understeery. I drove a 308 since and a way better fwd car. When I get a few more years out of this A3 I will get another Merc when I can afford

not wanting to start an argument or insult you but cars don’t crash themselves. you chose to go out in the snow/ice conditions the car didn’t make you go out. Cause and effect.
Every car handles differently and it’s a matter of personal preference. Takes a while to get use to a car and learn how it behaves in certain conditions.
If you bounced of the kerb and crashed into another car that more or less means you weren’t driving to the conditions or equipped for the right conditions and maybe a little too close to the car in front. Also means you weren’t in proper control of the car regardless how it handles or if it has alloy bits and bobs. I’m afraid it’s all down to you.
I’m sure most here have had accidents, small bumps, kerbing alloys etc but it’s not the cars fault. Me included, I just suck it up and get on with it.

Listen, 10mph, the police were behind and witnessed it happen and was driving to the conditions of the road. The car is crap/rubbish/ whatever you want to call it and have had it since 2019. The car i crashed into had skid and was 15 metres ahead when it began to spin. The Policeman told me to tell the insurance that I was reacting to the skidding corsa ahead the old lady was driving that resulted in my crash but I didn't take his advice and took responsibility. I needed to go out, to the supermarket 3 mins down the road, to get some food for my kids and for my elderly next door neighbours as I hadn't been shopping for a near week.

Your last post of the passive aggressive crap. You wouldn't spout that attitude to me in person but tough guy antagonist on your electronic device

Not being passive aggressive, stating facts. You bought the car, did you not test drive it and realise it handle like ****? It’s been mentioned earlier in the thread. Everything is a result of cause and effect. The car didn’t make you go out and drive it in the snow. Not the cars fault. You were reacting to the car in front but was your reactions the correct reactions? I would say 9 out of 10 of us would have the wrong reactions in the same conditions. Including me. still not the cars fault. Sh1t happens. As long no one hurt it’s just a car, inanimate object that can be repaired/replaced.

@AlS3BE @A3SLine2014 - You have been warned

I’m just stating facts mate. I’m not the one threatening folk on here.
