yourAudi - Track New Car Order

My build date has been moved forward again from 15th Dec to 30th Nov and is now confirmed.

Get your order number from the dealer and message Audi directly, they will give you the correct details

Took your advice, this is the response I got.........

Thank you for your e-mail to customer services regarding your vehicles build date.

Having spoken to the relevant team, they have advised the current status is week 50.

The Audi tracker is currently down for maintenance, they are working on getting this resolved as soon as possible, please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused by this.

Thank you for contacting Audi UK.

So week 50 to enter build means it’s come forward quite a bit. But the broker was suggesting arrival at dealer on 14th Feb, advised by Audi. With Xmas delays maybe these two dates tie up but I’m not sure.

Ordered: A4 Avant, Black Edition, 40TFSI, Comfort & Sound and Storage Pack. In the best colour to...NAVARRA!

Lucky people. The Q7 line must be running backwards. Ordered August. Order has end of December on the paperwork. Great. It then came forward to the beginning of November. Even better. Slipped back to beginning of December. Sort of acceptable. Now it is next March. Wow.

Order tracker been offline now 3 month?

Not good.

Just had a delivery date of 21st December confirmed, which will be 6 months almost to the day that I placed the order (a4 avant black edition daytona grey). Slightly frustrating from an initial October estimate, but delighted to be getting it before Christmas! Build date was week of 9th November, so about 6weeks ish to receiving it, 3 weeks of which is because of dealer having a lack of delivery capacity.

Is the "My Audi" tracker working OK or still causing issues for others?

Just been informed today that my new A4 will be delivered in February and it was only ordered last week!

Still down for me.

Good news on your wait time. I did see that Audi are advertising 4 or 5 weeks from order to delivery again - guess they stopped offering the stupid deals to coincide with that though!

Good news, glad your car is close.

This makes sense. I've been told by Audi Customer Services a build date of week 50. The broker has told me a delivery to dealer date of Jan 14th. This is also 6 weeks gap. These dates are now believable.

Out of interest which dealer has the lack of delivery capacity?!

I’ve bought through a broker, but I think it’s Epsom Audi. I’m up near Aberdeen, so perhaps it’s the distance that’s the issue. To be honest, I need to get rid of another Audi in the meantime, and I’m driving nowhere anyway these days, so a three week wait I can handle. Main thing psychologically was to get it before Christmas!

Excellent stuff! Ours should be here Monday, all being well.

yeah, fair if you’re buying, but we’re also leasing on PCH, so not an issue.
Unless you have an agreed price to purchase at the end. Lease may we’ll work out cheaper if car worth more at the end. Day one purchase cost is same 3 years on Dec 31 vs 1 Jan could be several £100s maybe £20 a month less!!

But pch doesn’t give you the option to buy at the end, so whether the car is worth 10 grand or 1 grand at the end, I don’t think that affects what we will ever pay. Or have I got that wrong? I guess the leasing firm might worry about that, but I suspect after 6 months’ wait I’ll bet they’re as keen as me to get the car out!

If they have any sense they will want you to wait and pocket the added value in x years time.

The balance, of course, is that I would not accept it being pushed any later, so they would lose this particular sale. I’m sure they could find someone else to buy it easily enough, but it’s certainly going to cost them time and effort in some form. And as I said earlier, I already have the delivery date agreed for Monday, so they haven’t pushed it.

Yes,you MUST be given the option to buy at the end of your lease. It's written in law. Silly but that's how leasing is now. They could quote RRP (highly unlikely) and obviously you would refuse but they have to give you an option to purchase if you ask. I've asked for every lease I've had, just to test the water but never considered the offer worthwhile.
My simple maths has always been Drive the Deal price minus total lease cost is the maximum I'd consider. The offer price has always been substantially more than that so a no from me.
Looking at it another way, they might offer you a lower purchase price on a 2020 car than if you waited to make it a 2021 car. Either way I'm with you, on a PCH registration date is not really a consideration. Even RFL if delivered on 29th isn't a concern.

As for my new Avant, ordered 25 June 2020, no delivery date on the horizon yet. If it wasn't for such an amazing deal I'd have walked long ago. VWFS have been consistent in their ineptitude. Their communication is non-existant without copying in customer complaints. Even then it's weeks to get a response. The website is still under development and I'm slightly embarrassed to ask my local dealer yet again if there is a build date. I'll just wait it out.
I believe the fact that it's a 163 Diesel is the common factor in the delays. Anyone else got a 163 inside 6 months?

I don’t think PCH does permit purchase at the end - I understood that was the main difference between that and PCP? Anyway, I’m the same as you - we ordered at the same time and are getting ours tomorrow, but that was a petrol, not a diesel, so could confirm your theory. If it hadn’t been for that deal they offered being so good, we would also have walked!

Well, almost six months to the day from order, my A4 Avant 35 TFSI black edition in Daytona grey has been delivered. And it is beautiful - I'll get some pictures in the other thread once I get the right light and angle!

I'm envious, nice Xmas present! But remember no pics then it doesn't exist:friendly wink:

Just checking the PCH to purchase and there is some rule re-tax but I believe it is for business lease (no VAT) not personal lease. I asked Network last time I had a BMW for them and they said they had to offer the car if the customer asked. I've aleays been given a quote when I've asked. Even 2 weeks ago when my A4 went. Confused now.

Anyone having any further joy with tracking your build? I’m still getting the same response from last month!

Heard from the broker today that my car is at the dealer. She already knew my intentions to delay delivery until the new reg in March as had the note on my file.

She said the dealer had registered it with a 70 plate but not to worry as they can change it and assign it a 21 plate for March delivery, they’d let me know the reg a few weeks prior to delivery.

It took every ounce of strength to not tell her to get my new toy delivered to me asap! But really no point during lockdown, it’ll just be sat on the driveway. Might as well save the monthly lease payments. We’re not using the wife’s car as it is.

I am in the same boat. However, my car is now confirmed build for next week. Good news. I was trying to get it sorted ASAP, but I have agreed for a March delivery too. It's absolutely pointless during the current climate to rush it.

Good news for me. My car, that I ordered on 24 June 2020, is at my dealers and I can collect it tomorrow. It's actually been there 3 weeks but they couldn't release it as the contract I agreed back in June '20 was too old and needed to be verified. TBH as we are locked down it hasn't bothered me to delay it at all. I discussed delaying until 1 March but they said the deal is so good it could be risky to go back to VWFS, so tomorrow it is.

Now about winter tyres!!!

Same as you SPIKE_JCW, 1st of March I’m taking delivery of a MY21 A4 40TFSI 204hp S-Tronic - Ibis White Black Edition Avant.

Broker got in touch this week with my new 21 reg plate details. I’ve looked at insuring it but too early as car not recognised on the systems yet it seems. I’ll give it a week or two.

Looking forward to it now, it’s been a long haul since ordering it in July. It was available in Jan but held of until new March new Reg.

Since returning my last B9 Avant in June I’ve realised how much I missed the car, absence makes the heart grow fonder! Originally back in 2016 I didn’t really bond with the car, but during my 4 years of ownership I grew to love it. A nice place to sit, very practical, took care of my young family and never missed a beat. Although, I always thought the S Line suspension was brutal on all but the best of roads, I guess I’ve got more of that to come with the new one.

I’ve got enough new toys and design changes moving from the B9 to B9.5 (2021MY) to keep me entertained. Some significant changes from my poverty spec 2016 S Line Avant - I even had the monochrome DIS and basic steering wheel controls. As well new toys and the BE styling, I’ll be getting my first auto. I drove the B9 S Line for a week and felt the hesitation massively, so I really hope that’s been improved.

Not long now, I’ll post some pics when I take delivery and we get some sunshine.

Agree. I’m collecting my new (not Audi) car on 1 March. Difference in value after 3 years between an 18/67 and an 18/18 is £3250. In most cases it is a no brainier to wait.

They would say that wouldn’t they!

It is a lease therefore I really don't care what it's worth in 24 month's time. In fact I would assume it is more in VWFS's interest to delay. The deal is £4800 less than the local dealer can offer. £200 per month is just too much to risk. So getting it 3 weeks early vs a potential risk of losing even 25% of that seemed fair to me, especially as I was quoted mid October delivery originally.
But if I was buying? Yes, I might be insisting on a delay, say I was shielding, refuse to answer the phone or whatever it takes to stall for another 3 weeks!

Do you have to hand it back? If not and you have the chance to buy at the end of the lease ... hang on and wait assuming everything else is the same.

You have a point but won’t it possibly be up to £3250 cheaper to buy in Feb 23?

unlikely! Dealers will try to sell at the February value. I followed the advice of a Group buyer who said this ..

‘I absolutely agree on registering the new **** in March although the dealer might throw money at you to register it earlier based on target chasing etc!! if they do then it's well worth considering.’

No extra money forthcoming so I have taken the decision to wait 3 more weeks.

on a £40k Audi the figure is more likely to be circa £1500.
