What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

Just spent the last half hour taking my rear seats out soaked in 5L of screen wash. Left screen wash unopened in the boot and somehow the lids got off. Seats are soaked & tyre well was full of screen wash. Started to dry it asked for old towels told Mrs there was screen wash all over the boot and seats of the car "what you done that for?". Was the response.

Working on the interior so over the weekend I installed footwell lights which I think compliment my new head unit nicely. Doesn't look so 2009 in there now :)

I had blue neons in 2006. Thought they were the thing back then. Nostalgia

Yeah I think they are a little old school, Bluetooth controlled so they can do any colour too.

The lights have revealed that you need to install stainless steel pedal covers.

Great Idea! Just looking at some now but struggling to find any cool ones that will fit my pedals nicely.
Those are the original from Audi.
Clutch and brake you remove the existing rubber and install the new.
For the acceleration pedal you replace the whole part.

Fitted a pair of OSRAM CBI's, what a pita was to get them installed.Went through the wheel arch instead of bumper off. Took me like 2 hours for drivers side, then did the passenger side in like 20min. Results were well worth it. (Previous owner changed the passenger side headlight and put a non OEM, hence the difference in cutoff lines, and its a bit dimmer than the drivers side, i guess its because of the headlight itself being non OEM.)

Got round to doing a few bits to the a3 finally. Fitted some mk5 GTI alum pedals, clearmount phone holder and an oem audi exclusive gearknob. For the gearknob I had to use the original a3 base (I believe it was for a b8 a4) but I much prefer it. Level length is much smaller too which makes it feel better!

Finally got around to converting my airbag from single stage to dual. So after all these years if I have a bump my drivers airbag will go off now. I had to rewire the ecu connector and replace all 6 crash sensors but when it’s back together (still doing a bcm conversion at the minute) I’ll definitely feel better driving it.

Dual as with seat airbag?
My 2 door has seat airbags, stearing wheel and above glove compartment if I remember correctly.

Dual as in drivers airbag mate. My original set up had the one connector for the steering wheel airbag. The newer flat bottom one I fitted needed two connectors. Even though there were no warning lights with just the one plug connected if I were to get into a crash the drivers airbag wouldn’t go off. There are a few posts on here referring to fitting MFSW and people advising against it because of this airbag problem. But after changing the ecu, crash sensors, wiring etc it’s now safe.

Decided I’d better change my alarm siren that I’ve been putting off for about 3 years. While I was there I saw I had a split flexi so done both sides. The other side was fine not bad for 17 years.

It cost £160 all in at JBS Autodesigns which is roughly 2 1/2 hours labour. I would’ve had to fit it in my own, outside, on my drive, in the freezing cold in February and it would’ve taken me much, much longer.

Ah that's very reasonable. German Specialists in Stockport estimated at around £300 when I spoke to them before Xmas but I've got the intercooler, both charge pipes and the most ridiculous amount of forge hoses.. I think I'm going to get them to fit the honeycomb grill as well cos that's a front off job and seems pointless doing it separately when it'd be a 10 mins job as there taking the front off anyway. Just need them to spray that silver crash bar black with a rattle can
I'd love to do it all myself but I doubt I've got all the right bits and never attempted a job as big as that

JBS said it would cost between £150 and £200 so I was well happy when it came in at £160. I’ve got a grille to go on myself and I considered getting them to do it but I wanted to keep the costs down, no rush for that though....

They were originally dropped to £535 and reduced further the very next day. I had to cancel my original order and start all over again. Funny thing was, the original one had a 6 week lead time, the second one arrived within 5 days....

Listed mine for sale, any pointers on the advert? Not had any interest in 2 weeks :/

Or anyone want to buy it?

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Nice car and ad!

I think currently with 'rona causing problems the second hand market has quietened down quite a bit. Government do say only essential trips etc...

Good luck with your sale. Lovely looking car.
