That's good new mate. Seems to me that people are buying more used at the moment compared to new? Quite a lot of friends are buying cars at the moment not many new but plenty used. I guess Jordan is going to be busy once restrictions lift.:thumbs up:
As for the sector I'm in since I returned to work at the end of July last year after a two month holiday:whistle2: we have been flat out. Even now we are getting orders in at a huge rate according to our boss we will make back our losses from last year by the end of Feb. Crazy times eh!
How are things for you?

Not bad mate plodding on but we import parts for the machines we refurb and they are taking forever to get here, there is around 24 workers, staff have been working from home for 10 months others are either shielding or put on furlough last year was a good year for us considering but slow to start with this January mostly down to brext though

VW have been really clever in developing the GTI's and R. They have made them so close in performance with each other and pricing that whatever you choose as soon as you start picking options you are starting to want to upgrade to next model up.. What a nightmare for the buyer lol

The interior / dash looks very nice on those shots too ... VW have definitely surpassed Audi on this occasion.

Something about that club sport really appeals. Can be had for under £40k too, avoiding the stupid high tax threshold.

Even tho the Cs is impressive on the move I don't think I could go back to a front wheel drive performance car therefore I'd pick the R .

Just off the VW configurator comparing prices and options the CS would be my pick of the of 2, price difference was almost £5k after both similarly configured lack of colour choice and the must have akrapovic exhaust needed on the R is way too much £48k plus change

Agree on the ridiculous Tory Tax at £40k is crazy. What a crazy Policy for a Right Wing Government!!

Although I'm not not sure I would want FWD with all that power, The CS looks lovely.

However following our TTS experiences a neighbour has just bought a 3 month old Audi TTS Black edition for similar money, wise move I reckon.

Isn’t the exhaust around £3k ?
That is a ridiculously high price ... but it does look good :)

That's the point I was trying to make.. It would be a difficult choice to make.. The only main factor would be the price. Like @jassyo06 £5k is something which needs to be taken into account. Yes £3k for an exhaust is a bit pricey but does look and sound good Snake.

Interesting comparison there, nothing really in it from 100 to 200kph. Unsurprising the R is much quicker to 100.

I would really like to drive these back to back in the spring, when we can hopefully get back into a showroom. However I would want significant discount whichever one I may decide to go for.

Depending on how the car market is towards the Summer I'm guessing there will be quite a few deals available.. Wishful on my part anyway. lol

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of state car sales are in by then, and ultimately are there any good deals about.

I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum that my wife's Q3 will need changing soon. My hope is there are deals to be had.
As it stands at the moment it's not going to be a VAG branded car. The APR on their finance packages is ridiculous. It's an area that they could easily change to entice more sales. BMW at the moment offer 2.9% rates compared to Audi's rate of 6.4% No brainer for even my 'Man maths' working outs lol

Test drove the Golf and A3 before purchasing my A3. The golf driving position is horrible, I've had a golf before and it's like driving a big box. Also ya'll think the new A3 interior is bad? Try the new Golf - it was disgusting imo, much more cost cutting than the Audi.

Audi is not even making the shortlist for me at the moment, apr is one of the many reasons. I managed 1.9% from VW on my current car, I will never be going back to 6% + when buying a car again.

BMWs 2.9% is something I could live with, frankly if they are able to do it the likes of Audi and Mercedes should be doing the same.

Mercedes are just as bad as Audi with high apr rates but in my case ie my TTS its givith with one hand and taketh away with the other not ideal but l had to order a car....soon As one off the peg in stock is rare especially with the way the industry at the moment

Lol I would love the missus to get a TT but she ain't no mug when it comes to parting with our hard earned. No amount of man maths can persuade her:sob:
She's thinking of either new shape Leon FR (despite the high APR ) which probably thinking won't happen or..... now don't take the 'pish'......
Toyota Corrola Hybrid... They offer 0% APR at the moment which she likes plus the car comes well equipped from factory. Time will tell on that one lol

I don't blame you mate. Considering the situation at the moment you would think they would be jumping all over this for a sale.. Go figure?
You are in a fortunate position where you have a great looking and spec'd car which to be fair should keep a smile on anyone's face for a while yet:salute:

I did place Mercedes in the same camp as Audi, but neither have any reason to change when people in the UK are willing to pay it.

Look at America for example, you won’t see any of the manufacturers Audi included with high apr rates as Americans simply won’t pay them, so manufacturers are forced to lower them if they want to sell any cars.

I would often tend to agree, however FWD undoubtably have the fun factor. My wife’s JCW manual was an absolute blast, but yes you had to be careful putting down the power, but tech has come such a long way hence why these 250-300+ FWD cars are feasible.

But as others have said, surely worth a drive of both CS and R and then decide if the £5k+ difference is in fact worth it. I would argue potentially not

Colour is turbo blue was going for Nogaro but that would have pushed back the delivery date to September or even October not getting a new car again on the onset of winter,, options blue interior styling pack.storage pack only option left was red brake calipers which l aint a fan of with a light blue paint got myself the oled rear tail lights to replace the standard led lights they should be with me at the end of this week

You gonna sound out the Guy who bought your last S3. Will be interesting to see what you can get for your voodoo pup as it’s quite possibly the best S3 in the country, so in theory commands a premium and will be highly sought after.

You thinking of training it down to Carlisle or similar ?

I certainly will never make a car choice based on PCP interest rates. I still reckon PCP is a less than ideal way to go. Save a bit of capital and then get a cheap loan over a longer period and essentially do your own PCP. As long as car is worth more than outstanding loan after 2/3/4 years what’s the problem? Better still save for longer and pay cash and then save money monthly for your next car.
