So when I start the car from cold it fires up strait away and runs perfect.
Some days I start and all good, then after the revs drop to normal I start getting some smoke from the rear,
after a while it clears up and all is fine.
The smoke smells a bit old oil, but after that its clear.
I don`t remember it happening before until I fitted a Catch Can system and wondered if this is causing it?
Spoke to Rob about it before but he thinks its not the Catch system.
Its like some oil is in the intake side and is burnt off, but its all random and intermittent.

If was the catch can setup i'd expect you to get it all the time Richard, and you're running a part delete so if less likely hood of it being that.
Possibly oil seeping past your valve guide seals , morso if its after a few days standing unused.
I can leave mine for a week with the full pcv delete and all is fine.
Normally smoke on startup from cold is oil getting into the combustion chamber either from the valves guide seals or being sucked in from the inlet.

The same happened to me for a while when I did the catch can setup, also bothered Rob about.. turns out the catch can was restricting the air flow causing some pressure build up.

How would oil get sucked in from the inlet ?

If you have any oil residue in the front intercoolers , pull the lower IC hoses and check.
Its very unlikely the source is half pcv delete as you are only using a pcv check valve bypass setup , the pass through is still the same , the catch tank is just a means of catching the heavier oil particals in the crankcase vapour on its return to the engine via the turbo.

which is why the setup needs be as free flowing as possible, any backpressure and it will cause problems.

Something else to keep in mind, the valve cover vent passage ways get clogged over time, a 13 year old car with 80k miles won't have the nice oil sludge free venting it did when new.
I gave the cover on my bus really good degung an pressure clean before i fitted the pcv bypass, touch wood so far no problems with it.

So how did you solve it.
Check the Catch Can, i had to replace it with a different kind that allows more and faster flow. It was a cheap baffled can.

I am not running a cheap Catch Can, so I don't think it's that.

When the weather hopefully changes and get the fix my bumper, I will drain the intercoolers with the bumper off.

The mishsi tanks are very good and with the half bypass setup you are running at present it is very unlikely to be the cause , you are pretty running as normal just with a tank to catch oil saturated vapour, the return is the same etc.
When the weather is better , jack up the front Richard , remover the undertay and pull the both hoses from L&R IC and see what comes out, they wont be dry i can assure you of that.
Have you drained them before?
If not and there is a lot of nasty stuff swilling around it maybe not be helping, you don't need to remove the bumper to pull the hoses.

As far as I know the intercoolers have not been drained, so I'm expecting a bit of nasty stuff to come out.
About the tank, what are the service intervals like cleaning the filter.

The tanks have no real set service interval Richard , just work on how you find it filling up, the micro filter is important thought as it can get blocked .
once i noticed a regular time period in which it started to get clogged i made a regular habit of cleaning it, but depends on how much you use the car.

don't be surprised if you have a fair bit.

Sadly I'm not using the car much at all, as you know I'm retired and with the lockdown as well,
Only can drive it locally to keep it going, with trip up the M4 now and then.

About the filter in the can, what do you clean again?
