Hi all ,

I wanted to get some reviews on anyone running APR stage 3 on there RS3s , I’m currently running APR Stage 2 on my RS3 (attached below :) and I’m thinking to go stage 3 TTE700 with the guys @QSTuning in the beginning year.

wanted to get some reviews to see if anyone has had any issues and is the the power noticeably different ?

Have done exactly this but have heard plenty of horror stories of bent rods, etc so I forged the engine to lessen the chance of any issues. I exclusively run the e85 file as the petrol station near my house has it and there is a solid difference, especially up top and mid range.

Whether or not it's worth it is up to how/where you drive and how deep your pockets are. Although I'm happy with the outcome the cost just wasn't worth it looking back when compared to stage 2 e85 which is the sweet spot imo. If you were just factoring in the cost of the turbo without upgrading rods, pistons then it might look a little nicer but comes with the risk of things going boom

is this with the APR software going bang ? I've heard of bad tuners ruining engines due to bad boost etc

Not necessarily APR but stage 3 e85 is really pushing the limits of the stock block from what I've understood (my garage is an apr dealer and told me this). They weren't the ones who forged my engine either so it wasn't like they were trying to sell me on the idea.

The one case where I know the owner personally and he bent rods he was running a custom dyno tune with a tte700 which was similar power but a little bit more peak torque. I would definitely feel safer with an off the shelf tuner like APR where they set parameters.

I'll try get a dragy slip done this weekend of 0-100 and 100-200 and dm it to you comparing to what I got on the stage 2 e85 apr file. It's quite hot here right now and it was winter when I recorded the stage 2 times but there should be a big enough difference especially in the 100-200 time.

I went stage 3 about a week ago TTE700 APR however we only have 95 here so it's safe. Power is great but right now my times suck because I can't get the traction down from a launch. I'm spinning up big time in first and second and I'm on PS4S with the stage 3 TCU tune. Love the turbo the power is there but I think I need to get some better rubber.

No that makes sense , I know e85 takes the take to 730bhp. Stock blocks are safe around the 620-30 mark before going built block.

yeah let me know on those times. I’m making the switch from my stage 2 setup to stage 3 very soon so I look forward to it.

Thanks tho.

Did you come from a stage 2 ? If so did you feel the difference ?
