So, been thinking about getting the car detailed inside and out and some decent paint/leather/alcantata protection on it, I didn’t on the GTR and ended up paying for it. Question is anyone know somewhere really decent to get this done? Preferably in the north east but tbh if the job is top notch I don’t mind travelling? A quick search only really brings one place up in the north east using Gtechniq externally too which I have no idea how good/bad it is, any help be greatly appreciated :icon thumright:

I got my fl and my pfl detailed and coated. Best thing ive done, not one swirl mark and the car looks amazing after even a quick wash.

Cant help with a local one, im miles away in the south west. here's a few pics of my two

Yeah looks incredible that, well worth it, I definitely need to get it done asap, how much was yours? Quoting about 600-700 for mine but I was expecting more? I’d rather pay a quality job than half **** it and save a bit money

If you are willing to travel i would check out white details channel on YouTube, this guy to me is probably up there with the best. Never used him but if I ever did he would be my number one choice

Also, do consider the expensive option of ppf while being detailed. Worth it..

I’ll check him out today, don’t mind travelling if he’s worth it but always sceptical of just some YouTube videos

What’s this? Price doesn’t really bother me, I just want it done properly it seems well worth it to me

Just over £4K for a full ppf + Gtechniq, had my done, almost out of the showroom as I will hang onto it for good 5-years or longer.

DDB in North Shields supposed to be one of the best, my Audi garage actually gave me there details when I got my car.

Try @FranA3 who is a site sponsor and mobile. Been doing my cars for 5 years, very good at his job + a nice chap too.

I’ll speak to them and see if they’ll do the PPF along with the Gtechniq, in my naivety I thought they were both relatively the same thing, done some reading though and they’re clearly very different things offering differing protection.

These are actually the ones I was considering up here, the reviews for them are brilliant I just didn’t want to name them in case you weren’t allowed with site sponsors and the likes, but I’d need to speak to them to see if they’ll also do the ppf or whether they’ll just do the Gtechniq ceramic coating

Does look very nice, is that just a ceramic coating or some ppf layer too?

Just ceramic. Pretty much stone chip free, especially good considering Nardo is a soft paint too.

I’ve messaged him mate, the only option up here really is DDB so between the two really

I personally wouldnt bother with full ppf. Just get the front and mirrors done, thats what i did, rest of the car is Gtechniq ceramic coated (top one with evo including all options).

Gtechniq is ceramic coating which forms a tough layer of protection over the clear coat/lacquer. Whereas PPF is thin mega tough film which can withstand hard impacts from stones and is based on products the US Airforce used in the vietnam war to protect eg helicopter rotor blades.

I think the place local to me offers the best coating Gtechniq do, with a 9 year guarantee, gonna get them to do the whole car and as you say just do the front with the PPF, they’re also gonna do that for me. Can’t wait to get it done and see it but it’s been delayed a little bit with Covid restrictions tightening and me now needing to sort an alloy out too, gonna go down the new route I think instead of trying to fix a diamond cut one

manchester may to far for you but and old member here does miracles with our cars and knows audis inside and out. Nate is exceptional. kowalski details
