New S3 ordered

Cars now sat at Port of Emden waiting on a ship to the UK. Brilliant turnaround from only starting build week on Monday.

Guys, at the request of the OP, and without me wanting to sound to much like a grinch or a pseudo facist can we try a little to stay relatively on topic :) I think Disney World might be going a little off the beaten track on this one :)

Even in the above render you can see how out of proportion the 8Y is compared to the 8V, it doesn’t looks right at all.

Damn .... that's a blow the RS3 is not available to order !

Such a shame you don't like the Merc as the CLA A35 or 45 is a stunning looking car in saloon form - but I get its styling is not for you .....

Hopefully something else will emerge that does appeal mate ... but I'm not sure what at the moment.

That sounds great, but knowing Audi it will be incredibly overpriced

yes on paper it sound very good indeed RRP is around £56k with a £800 of option l got offered one with a £8k deposit for £529 overall discount including the Audi finance contribution £9000

l am going to contact the Porsche dealer again because he quoted me £660 a month with a £10k deposit and according to the website calculations the exact same spec comes to £641 a month which makes no sense as he said his quote included a discount....

Have you gone down the broker route?
Just wondering how they compare to main dealer finance packages. Magnitude finance are offering packages at around the 6.9% which seems pretty high to me?

6.9% is shocking when you take into account what the actual interest rates are sitting at.

My thoughts exactly.
You would think they would pass on some sort of discount if only to stimulate sales??

Audi's interest rates are also shocking, BMW seemed to be the only manufacturer who dropped their rates to something sensible

That is significant when you consider BMW is 2.9%, I managed to get 1.9% on my TCR.

Going back to 6% Apr would be hard to swallow

Yeah even the 45 doesn’t sound good at tick over ... but it does sound good when you hammer it up the Rev range & you get some nice exhaust feedback coming down the gears rapidly too. No RS3 sound track though. I do love the look of the CLA especially from the rear.

Yeah I must confess I’m quite pleased my car hunting days are over for a few years as it appears to be a wilderness out there at the moment.

Just found something out that’s really disappointed me and never picked up on on my test drive.

On the 8V S3 as you will know there’s a range of displays you can flick through including the single dial sports display. As it turns out the new style Rev counter we have seen on the new S3 models is a European only feature and isn’t programmed into the UK S3s. Therefor you have no sport dial display.

What on earth are they thinking??

Just another reason to avoid Audi, the only models that interest me are the R8 and RS variants. All the standard models, even the new S models are dull as dishwater. Only the current S5 in the right spec looks decent, but then it has a Diesel engine so that ruins it.

That is terrible - that readout option was previously for S models regardless of the VC size or type - shame on Audi.

At least you know now before the car arrives so you can get your head around it I suppose.

Completely agree! The CS was the final hurrah before production ended for that M2. Plenty picked up the non CS M2 Comp for great deals over the last 6 months or so

Your new S3 10-5" virtual cockpit has been taken straight out of new A1 mate cost cutting in a way, the same as you may know that magnetic damper control/19s has been deleted from the S3 Saloon as has the illumination on the cup holders/Bang & Olufsen speakers
Ye need to Go for Vorsprung s3 for the Hockey stick style Rev counter.
Edition 1/Vorsprung tfsi/derv models have the 12-3" vc but but no Hockey stick rev counter hence all the negative comments about the standard kit/option choices on here
