New S3 ordered

Even a face lifted 8y wont sort out the actual cost cutting issues..From my point of view on changing cars....l need it to be fooking special....lol to sell my S3.....So l have been looking at the Cayman/718 Boxster......prefer the looks of the Boxster though and that's the road i am on right now...l did look at the 718 before l got my S3 4 years ago so maybe l may do it this time around

That may be a nice route to go down.
Either car would be great.
I’ve often thought about one and may go down that road one day - before we lose engines all together !
No harm trying one out pal and ticking off the bucket list :icon thumright:

A 718 is where my money is likely to go, the only downsides for me is the practicalities. 95% of the time it will be fine, but we would go away 3 times a year on average and not having a car which you can throw 2 full size suitcases in to go to the airport would be an issue.

Taxi or coach to the airport whilst the Porsche is safe at home.

Our main airport is over a 100 miles away, so a 200+ mile round trip in a taxi or worse coach is never going to happen.

Our son is 23 so no problem with kids, America is our choice of destination. European holidays don't really interest us at all.

I’m staying hopeful, I don’t expect it to be in the first half of next year. We have booked a trip in mid October, we are hoping that will be allowed.

I would REALLY like to get to Florida in October but I aint booking anything until I am confident restrictions would not affect the 'experience'.

We are also big fans of Florida (been 16 times), we have been following the details closely as like you we would only go back if the restrictions don't effect the experience.

The Dibb website, and Tim Tracker on YouTube are really useful for understanding how the situation is developing there.

That’s a sweeping and typical “Jassy” statement for such a large and varied country, and though no doubt those people do exist, as they do here, and indeed on this very forum, America has some amazing places to visit, especially away from the usual tourist go too.. some of the more out of the way parts of California and Colorado/Nevada are amazing, though i personally don’t get the lure of Florida at all, each to their own...

Yeah I totally understand what you say as we've been to Jamiaca a few times and the Americans can be loud and stand out a bit.
But maybe its because most of them holiday outside the USA, you don't get this or see this when you holiday there.
The service is exceptional in the States as is the food, drink and entertainment.
The standard of hotels is also off the chart, especially in Vegas - maybe its the bling Merc in me that makes it appealing lol.
But sat on the patio of an italian restaurant sipping cocktails and eating fine food whilst viewing the Bellagio fountains is an experience to behold.

Never say never mate - you just find its not what you expected or pictured it to be.
That said we are equally at home having a relaxing holiday in Tenerife and have our fave hotel and bars / restaurants out there too.
I also picked up in another thread about your favourable experience with Sensatori.
The place does look fantastic so we may give that a try at some stage :icon thumright:

Many, many people would say that about the English. In fact it’s quite a common thing for non English people to say they actively avoid English people when on holiday.

Totally agree, we have been to many States and driven thousands of miles around the USA and it’s amazing how different the people are from State to State, and even a different city or town in the same State.

Driving through Death Valley there were a lot of similar roads to this, at some points the landscape was like being on another planet.
