You are very patient mate, especially for something that hasn’t even been announced yet . Fingers crossed for you some news is incoming.

I would go RS4, even in “poverty spec” as you put it, one heck of a car and completely different league

Especially when a decent spec Golf8R is 50k. Gotta put the RS3 when launched at close on 60k with a few options.

Its Very tempting , having a 19plate poverty spec sline A4 Oiler which i really really like, its so so tempting not to go out there and spoil myself with 1
but if i did i may kick myself not holding off some more,or at least till i see 1
Need to go test drive me a S3 to see if it tempts me into the RS3
the itch is getting very itchy
probably like a dose of crabs needs to be scratched soon

With £70k, I would go tidy loaded used RS4 or 5. Most depreciation gone.

Is cool if you are the 1st in something, but seems a way off, but have been a few spy shots of RS3’s going round the ring, but not seem any for a awhile. Probably cos they are too busy building oil burners or lekkie vehicles

Yeah probably right there
Have asked for the guy at Stratford Audi today to give me a call to arrange a test drive of an s3
Might be able to get it for a day to have a blast around in ,in January
Think my decision will be made at that point
Rs4 or wait on the rs3

I think you really need to look at the 8y S3 and scrutinize it.....then you'll realize how much cheap tat your £60k is going to buy you mate....in the past there hasn't been a bigger Audi fan boy on here than myself....but after examining the interior/exterior I can see the dreadful cost cutting that's been done by Audi to the A3 8y the list is too long to post....for me the exterior isn't a cohesive enough design especially the front of the car ....you mention a basic spec Rs4.....l would continue to save and add some options to that basic RS4 the new face-lift A4's interior is one of the few real Audi interiors left....barring the TT and R8
You'll regret it buying this junk

And you make absolute perfect sense for someone with sense
Unfortunately your talking to someone with absolutely none
However I’ve had a seat in the sline and as you say, junk.
I will test drive an s3 and scrutinise it
If it doesn’t wow me then an rs4 rs5 or dare I say even an s4 vorsprung could be on the cards
Being available in spades at the mo could be the way to go and cheaper if it’s a year or 2 older
Although the pull of being the first in an rs3 is very much still there
Cheers jassy

I don't know yet....the 718 cayman is a viable proposition Boxster l love discounts are slim but available at £3,500 that includes a £2k contribution from VAG finance hope to do better..

Only negative l see is Colour choice its a very drab affair I'll test drive once these abhorrent restrictions subside

I think the Boxster looks a cracking car mate ... but how are the options stacking up ?

Looks like an incredibly long (expensive) list.

Are you going all out for the spec you want or trying to balance cost ?

& what colour :)

From another thread, sounds like costs have stacked up...all £59k of it to the mans spec

As @NevMan said they wanted £660 a month after my £11k deposit...option were around £14k worth mostly cosmetic on the exterior....only options l added interior wise was Bose £800,partial chalk leather £1075,silver seat belts £180,rear view/door mirrors dimming £380

of course it had a PDK box alloys where £3k....well £2200 but painted black add another £825

Didnt even add climate control.......lol and the dissapointing thing l was slumming it with the no cost option Guards Red paint which is ok but not special l am uncomfortable about paying that amount every month for a 300 bhp car, my monthly is nothing over £600

So plan A/2 I have made an enquiry on a RS3 Saloon Sport Ed....with comfort/sound pack,Audi Sport Pack, matrix, folding mirrors......now here is where it gets a bit confusing according to the Audi website there is a £3000 contribution towards a RS3 but nothing on the Sport Ed if thats the case they can go and **** themselves

Hmm yeah when I had a look on the Porsche website I was staggered by the list of options ... fantastic if money no object to personalise a car but omg I can see how the cost could stack up.

Must be frustrating for you pal. I do think you’d love the RS3 too though. I very nearly considered one and I would have really liked a face lift and may have gone saloon too ... but I swayed elsewhere & the rest is history as you know lol. But seriously cracking car - keep us posted on your progress.

my brothers just ordered one, or rather paying the deposit tomorrow. Lapiz, perf pack, rear view camera and pano roof. 42k after 2k discount and 1500 deposit contribution. 10,500 in over 4 years and 5k miles a year it’s 340 quid a month. Managed to get service plan thrown in also. Pricey but looks a hell of a motor. Rather be in that than the new S3

It is mad the options and how they stack up on Porsche. Fingers crossed on the RS3 saloon, sounds lovely spec mate and if you can get the deposit contribution...result

A few new pictures, I haven’t seen a white one before
https://www.carscoops.com/2020/12/t...-piece-of-hatch-we-wont-be-seeing-in-america/

although according to this article, they are quoting launch in September 21!
https://www.motor1.com/news/461527/audi-rs3-sportback-spy-photos/

Interesting though as the chap that runs Auditography said “soon” when I asked if he knew when the RS would be available - September doesn’t sound like soon :(

I’m holding on in there

When l inquired about a quote for the current RS3 Saloon Audi sport variant ye know "that one thats way better looking with way better build materials" after telling me it was no longer available to order he did say Audi would be introducing the new 8Y RS3 out by mid 2021 l have no reason to doubt his word because he was bang on with the date the dealerships receiving the stock the of the 8y S3 ie November l spoke to him about this in July as for prices l dont think it will much more than what the 8v models finished at.....but there will less variation in models choices and individual options

Don’t like porkers
All look the same
Wouldn’t have a clue which model was which
With your 993 997 911 and any other 999999999s
They all look like squashed vw Beatles to me
And I’d never want a school runner in any guise

Fair enough, but to
Me £70k on an A3 is insane

Totally agree
It will have to be something pretty special for anyone to part with this much cash
We shall see hopefully soon enough
I have other options ,all Audi ones though
Or I may just keep my a4 sline as it’s not even 2yrs old yet and barley used or up that to a vorsprung as I’d like more toys

Hello
I'm also waiting
I'm ignoring the September release quoted by AutoExpress simply because I hope they're wrong haha.
I hope to see it in early spring.

There are multiple sites all quoting the September timeframe now based on a quote from within Audi Sport from Frank Michl, however it’s hard to tell with a lot of these motoring sites as they all seem to say the same thing more or less, like they are all written by the same person or just copied from site to site.
