And? Any use? Good value?

First impressions.....

Very impressive piece of kit.

Variety of OTS maps from stage 1-4

Uses TunerPro to make tweaks etc to maps.

Different octanes / Flex fuel / Ethanol supported.

Switchable maps via cruise control and you can program the torque / power gauges to show other parameters.

You can emulate changes with it before flashing to the ECU.

What about your warranty though Sean ;)

Whats the benefits from using one of these rather than paying a recognised tuner to map it?

Depends if you are near a tuner I suppose.

I’m not and was 100% going Unitronic however after coming across Dyno Spectrum I liked what was on offer, plus they are very helpful and open about what they do.
I can add in pops and bangs myself / there’s an option to close the wastegate at lower revs/load to get rid of the rattle.
Switchable maps and various off the shelf maps stage 1/2/2+980cc 3/4 available

I've been looking at this myself as I'm keen to go flex fuel, but I'd still want to have a reputable local ( Aus) set up and tune for me.

Wastegate rattle at cold start and under light loads has now been mapped out.

Such a great piece of kit.

How do you find the data logging?

Are the maps any good?

How do you find the data logging?

Are the maps any good?

Data logging is very comprehensive and pretty straightforward to do...... I’ve done several runs now and the car feels strong with 0 Knock across the 5 cylinders on full throttle.

I’ve got the Stage 1 99 map on currently and it won’t be long before I flash Stage 2 once I buy the TVS DSG tune.

Very good customer focus from Dyno Spectrum too, always reply quickly to questions.

The annoying Cold start warning beep now removed.

Sounds interesting. I already had a revo but that waste gate rattle.....

Brilliant piece of kit in my opinion.

No more WG rattle (or catalyst warm up phase) and no cold start beeping is worth the price in its own.

The annoying Cold start warning beep now removed.

Has the beep when an error is set also gone ? Just wondering if the beep is removed globally or just for the cold start warning

Just the cold start / don’t Rev over 5500 limiter.

New changes today......

Pedal box now removed as I’ve tweaked the throttle table so hopefully now that’s been sorted.

Cete valve controller taken off and Exhaust flaps programmed to be open all the time in Dynamic mode, but can still be quiet in comfort.

Sounds like a great piece of kit. How much was it? You’re already getting your money’s worth out of it by the looks of things!

Wow, this sounds amazing. Can I ask a few questions:

1. How much configuration is there for the over run tuning, can you go mild/none/asbo, or is it just a yes or no tick box thing?
2. How much tuning knowlege do you need not to blow up the car? Is there much support for learning how to tune?
3. Are the verified dyno figures for their tunes anywhere? Do you plan on testing your car at all?

I have a Stage 2 car but I'd much rather learn how it all works and do it myself as there's a lot they don't offer like the valves opening fully in dynamic and the rattle fix. My tuner literally told me it wasn't possible to adjust some of things you mentioned, which tells me I'd be better off learning how to do it all myself! This kit looks like a real game changer.

1) Overrun timing tables can be altered as much as you want, there comes a point though as with all these things, how much is too much, and engine longevity.
I ran -17 deg for an afternoon and whilst it was reminiscent of my PFL car, after a while it got on my nerves, so I toned them down.

2) The maps supplied are well tested OTS versions , you use the DS1 in conjunction with TunerProRT 5 to alter them, there are people in the FB Group that are very helpful. Dyno Spectrum support is also very good.

3) There are graphs on DS website in WHP and bear in mind the OTS maps are conservative / Safe. But they go up to Stage 4 and support Flex fuel / ethanol /100/105 etc
I may get the car on a Dyno at some point but I’ll more likely do Dragy runs once the winter tyres are off.
Butt Dyno tells me it’s quick, Stage 2 is going on it next week along with TVS stage2+ DSG software.

This is table I came across today for start up bark.....

Thanks very much for the info. So are the pops and bangs completely controlled by timing retardation? I assumed there was also extra fueling involved? I'd buy the DS1 just to be able to dial this in myself frankly!

Are there any forums or anything for tunerproRT you can point me to? I'd like to start reading and learning before I pull the trigger on one.

I hope you dyno it after you have it all dialled in as you like, but even draggy results would be really good to see.

Actually, does anyone know if tuners can "lock" an ECU so it cannot be remapped again? I heard some mixed stories on this.
If mine is locked, can I buy a stock replacement and just stick it in there, or does that have to be coded it by someone much smarter than me?

There is a whole function for the pops and bangs. There is an option within it for over-run and downshift noise. Only downshift noise is enabled in DAZA and in DNWA all noise is disabled. It is simply a case of turning it back on and setting some timing maps to alter the impact of the noise.

Go join the Dyno Spectrum FB.

As Dan says there’s a whole section within TunerPro that contains Sound Tuning.

There’s certain changes within sound tuning that require change for the P&B’s to take place. Also changes in the ignition tables for when and how severe.

Don’t get me wrong it won’t turn you into a tuner for me it wasn’t about that to some degree.
But having the ability to flash myself and have some insight into what goes on in an ECU is worth the asking price alone.

Really interesting, thanks dan and t-1000. You guys both seem really knowledgeable, Is there anywhere else I can learn more about tuning, or tuning software and strategies? I've joined the FB group.

t-1000: I'm curious if your valves being open all the time in dynamic includes on start up? Are you able to lock startup in a true dynamic mode, or does it still default to comfort but keep the valves open?

Still need to select individual / dynamic as I’m told the ECU isn’t 100% in control of Drive select modes it shares that with central electrics.
The Remap mimics the Cete in keeping the flaps open fully.
If I want a quiet start I just put it in comfort.
I suppose I could have left the Cete on it but just didn’t see the need for it anymore.

Car is bonkers loud now on the Stage 2 file I’m running.
The idle and low down sound is so much better than stock / stage 1.

The DS1 sounds really well thought out if it can offer all of that - it's more than most pro tuners give for their stage 2++ tunes.

This is a really nice looking piece of kit.

At what Stage can pops bangs be enabled?
Does it require Stage 2 like most remaps?
Presumably the GPF needs to be removed for those with a DNWA?

Pops and bangs can be enabled at stage 1 and I do so for the maps I work on. This includes the DNWA with GPF. We have bought a DNWA car (we also own a DAZA) and have done many thousands of miles to ensure robustness on our stage 1 with pops n bangs. This includes some extreme testing at Millbrook Proving Ground.

Any stage, the procedure is pretty straightforward if you are ok using TunerPro.
I actually did some testing of various stages of ignition adjustment to see what was possible and how it sounded, now I have a sound that I really like.

Dyno Spectrum are currently putting the finishing touches to their DNWA maps.

How easy was it to turn set the valves to always open in dynamic. Is it just a tick box? Also where did you order yours from. Might well pull the trigger on impulse tonight

Several tables need changing to have the valves open in Sport (dynamic)
Email them from the website to order.

How's your tuning coming along? I'd be interested to hear your experience with the OTS tune, and if you've worked with a custom tuner to refine it yet? Any draggy or dyno results?

@T-1000 What needs to be done to remove the cold start warning?? Not sure my local DS1 tuner does this, but would be nice to do when do go to DS1.

Change Rev limits to match red line.
