Since I've retrofitted an S-Line black intererior it came with two lights under the sunshades whom are not connected (yet).

I've made connectors for the light but need to get a live and ground from somewhere. And this livefeed need to act with the rest of the interiorlights. My first thought is connect it to the middle interiorlight in the headliner, but I can't find any OEM connection spots.

I checked ElsaWin and found that there it no additional wiring going to the connector for the interior light.

So I got the middle interiorlights out and looked on the board to see if there were any pins or connections I could splice into. Didn't saw anything so I just thought lets cut the wires and solder/splice it onto the copper for the interiorlights so they come on when pressing the button and on keyfob.

Well, when I connect both of the lights only 1 side works, so I think it "overloads"?

Anyone who can shine a light (yes I just said that) on how to wire those two lights? Or how they are connected OEM?

On my old A3 the lights under the sunshades were switched on and off when you slide the cover open/close to reveal the vanity mirror in the sunshade.

So maybe you need the sunshade wiring diagram:)

Ohhhhh, wait... what? You mean when you pull the whole shade down or when you slide the slider to reveal the glass

Yep - they come on when slider is opened...

The light only comes on with the slider. The slider acts as the switch for the light.

I think the light is linked into the hinge of the shade as well though so if you leave the slider open but put the shade up the the light goes off aswell.

Well f*ck me sideways. I thought it was linked to the interior lighting lol. Well, thanks for getting me in the right direction then :).

For the one's who are interested in it;

The vanity mirror lights get their power from PIN3 on the interior light. This is a constant live feed. The ground cable is connected to the shade, when closing the slider it'll break contact and therefor the light will go off. Opening the slider creates a circuit and powers the lamp.

New idea, I don't have the sunshades containing those connectors so I will ground the lamps somewhere on the roof and just tap in on the live feed of the interiorlamps so they act with the interior light in the middle and can be turned on by pressing that button.

Thanks anyway all :)
