Yeh I know mate, Will do over the weekend hopefully , Cost today for removing back discs and pads putting all new back and the front swopping the pads for new , and cleaning all the area around the discs /painting the front discs (my paint) price £144 , Happy with it all, The back drilled discs >> So nice! thanks to cosmicblue.
Nearly had the RS a year, just got the tax reminder, Looking at the mot, Audi did it when I bought it, Even though it was less than 3 years old, last mot 9884 miles, just looked now 12788 (more than I thought) so low miles for a dec 66. To be fair it is a weekend car.

Hi folks, I hope you are all well.
Collected my RSQ3 Sportback just before lockdown, and it is growing on me. However, it is too quiet, and lacks drama (due to the filters I believe). Are there any places doing custom exhausts for these yet?

Went for the hulk colour....Nice
A few people (soon to be me also) have fitted Cete Active Valve Control units to their cars. Not cheap but seem to work pretty well by all accounts. It links to the existing MMI and you can choose to have valves open or close.

I have the Cete controller on my 8U RSQ3, excellent - expensive though. Better buy now, once we leave the customs union you will be paying VAT twice and import duty.
Cars in to main dealer on Tuesday, Mot, sat nav update to 2020 (free) and check mmi as phone not working, Just seen it whants a oil service in 17 days or 9700 miles, main dealers price £480, Garage what looks after my vans £165 using all audi\ VW parts, Big difference.
What do you guys think to this

I agree its a brave colour choice but my other half always wanted an S3 in that colour.Not for me,chavy and nasty.

It's a brave colour - but maybe a shade more subtle than the current Kermit green. Having owned both a 340PS and now a 367PS Performance version of the RSQ3 there is negligible difference between the two from a driving point of view - the 367PS is slightly heavier on fuel.
Both have absolutely visceral performance, the ability to demolish just about everything you'll ever encounter in straight line acceleration from a standing start - there are slightly quicker cars out there for sure but the 8U RSQ3 is such a rare sight that even most petrol-heads are unaware so get quite a surprise as the thing hoofs off into the distance with that distinctive 5 cylinder sound track with pop and crackles from the exhaust...I mean it's just a mumsy school run SUV isn't it?

I knew when I saw it and read the spec it was the one and definitely will never see another in that colour on my travels.
The previous owner always buys his cars from the same dealership, specs them up to the max and trades them in every 3 years. He's ocd and hasn't even used the drivers floor mat......or at least thats what the saleswoman has promised me!
I'll miss the SQ5 when it goes as its been awesome, but i need to tick the RS on my bucket list.

Welcome to the RSQ3 family,I think I’ve seen only about three others on the road in the almost two years I’ve owned mine,I love the exclusivity,and yours is on another level again. A little remap,once warranty has expired,would soon make you forget about the performance variant

My son says there is one round the corner, I've not seen it but its apparently in one of the more boring blue colours

When I 1st drove an RSQ3 (Swindon Audi/Misano Red ex Audi staff car) I was, well, a bit underwhelmed - you see that the RSQ3 has a Jekyll & Hyde personality - which when understood makes it very easy to live with, Driven 'normally' it is just effortless, swift, smooth - crikey, almost sensible. I actually didn't buy the car...but, like you, had that itch and a Sepang Blue 340ps was the result from Southend - should never had traded it for an RS4, regret that to this day.
Try a little bit harder and the other personality appears even in 'D' - to be perfectly honest I almost never drive mine in Sport mode (in a standard car that's your only option to get the exhaust valve open - solution is a Cete AVC). Sport mode is brutal - partners are usually not happy in the passenger seat, not helped by your manic grin
Checking the car over:
1) Check the front discs - those monster wavy discs are gripped by huge 8 pot Brembo calipers with 4 brake pads each side (they are formidable stoppers), the discs however have a 1mm wear limit off each face, 2mm total - it is actually stamped on the disc hub. The OEM pads are abrasive so if there is a noticeable lip on the outer edge of the disk negotiate to get them measured/changed. They are around £500 a pair. plus pads - OEMs are £367 a set - Redstuffs (see below) are about £200.
Many RSQ3 owners, myself included, use EBC Redstuff pads - better than OEM, ceramic and don't wear the discs - polish like mirrors instead and little dust. Highly recommended.
2) The RSQ3 has a different Quattro system than the SQ5 - no Torsen coupling. It has a Haldex - an electromagnetic clutch in the back axle that is activated if the car senses that the front wheels are rotating faster than the fronts...in an RSQ3 the Haldex is often awoken from it's slumbers. The standard servicing routine is to change the oil - however the Haldex pump has a filter gauze (see picture) that needs checking/cleaning too - removing the pump needs two new O rings - I had the dealer do mine - with photos to prove. The consensus view is every 20,000 miles is prudent. Might be worth seeing if you can get the dealer to do it....expect the usual 'it doesn't need it sir'.
3) An RSQ3 needs a new set of spark plugs every 20,000 miles (different from most other Audi cars), they are about £200 a set (made by Beru), should have been replaced on yours but check it has actually been done - often overlooked.

A valve controller will be on my list as I had one on my 8V S3 so I know the virtues!
The discs and pads are being replaced by the dealer as they are 75% worn, I specifically checked this and made it a condition of the sale.
As for the haldex filter, I don't think it wil have been touched as it won't have reached the due mileage yet and now the deal is done, will be hard to have that thrown in.
I do however have 2 years warranty with the car so im happy with that.
I'll change the pads though when I get it
