So I think its best I start a thread as a have a few things planned for the car.

Some of the things I have planned include:
- New Front Tyres (done, purchased Michelin Pilot Sport 4's).
- FL Flat Bottom Steering Wheel (purchased).
- New Headunit w/ Apple Car Play/ (purchased).
- Paint Correction (will probably be posted on detailing subforum).
- Engine Bay Detail (same as above).
- 8V Rear Wiper.
- Black Optics Pack Upgrade.
- Wheel Refurbishment.
- New bits to keep the car looking fresh (caliper retaining springs w/ S3 logo, new plates, repaint calipers and various other bits).
- Maybe remap it.

Will probably add things along the way.

FL flat bottom steering wheel arrived today, will hopefully get it fitted later on. Also had the headunit and install kit arrive! Excuse the rabbit munching on the box.

Nice job why cant you fit head unit yourself. Sid you fit the wheel

My car is going in for haldex oil change and cambelt is being done so they said they’d get it fitted whilst it was in so just out of ease I suppose. Plus I’m not sure how much I trust myself to do it properly.

Ok it's not that hard should be plug and play it your changing to a Audi unit

It’s a Sony unit and there’s a lot of adapters to get it to work with the Bose speakers and steering wheel, so I thought I’d save myself the headache since there’s no instructions with it

Ok that makes sense. I put pumkin android straight forward but I had instructions. Just check when they fit that all speakers work correctly there is an issue with some Bose systems speakers.

If you check you unit if it can take reverse cam. Get one ask them to just run wires and you could possibly sort. I did all my mods my self

Did a nice little mod today, genuine Audi plate holder makes it look very fresh.

Another quick little mod today, 8V rear wiper. Took a fair bit of effort to get the old wiper off.

Surprised you didn’t just do a wiper delete!

I’m really not a fan of wiper deletes, especially on a hatchback as the rear gets dirty quite fast, plus I don’t really like how it looks and I like to be able to see clearly our the rear window!

I did a thing, rather than the mechanic struggling with it I decided to take it upon myself to install it and other than the sound not working at first it’s all installed and works lovely now. Very pleased.

A few photos just for you pal, Apple CarPlay is a real game changer, really does future proof the car.

Got the original head-unit still just incase I decide to sell in the future

This may seem like a backwards step, but I decided to go back to the original stereo head unit. Reason being, I wasn't feeling the look of the aftermarket head unit. Plus, I was experiencing annoyances such as alternator whine and a few glitches with the unit.

I'm not going to stick with this head unit though, I have a new plan. From what I can tell the RNS-E units are pretty much plug and play, as I have the Symphony III Bose system it should be relatively straightforward (please let me know if this is not the case). I'm looking to source a RNS-E unit and probably add wireless AUX-IN to keep the car feeling up to date.

Fitted my FL rear lights today, tested them out and realised the reversing light was red... Checked the boxes and the company sent one RHD light and one LHD light so I had two fog lights and no reverse light!

It's been a while since the last update on the S3, during the last month I've had a few bits done. Still over the moon with this car, hasn't missed a beat so far and is still easily the best car I've owned. I'm looking at getting it booked in with R-Tech and I'm currently on their waiting list for a potential booking which is exciting but will likely not happen until the new year.

Bits done:
- S3 8P FL wheels purchased and refurbished all round, they look excellent.
- New OSRAM XENARC Intense 6000k D1S bulbs fitted. Vast improvement over the stock bulbs.
- New Varta Silver 77ah battery
- Push to start clutch bypass harness
- PCV valve and breather pipe replaced as it was seeping oil
- Clearmounts phone holder installed

The car went in to the mechanic yesterday as I've noticed a small oil leak around the back of the engine, turns out it's a rocker cover gasket and it's only minor so the car is booked in next week to have a brand new one fitted. (Bonus pic next to an 8L S3 at my top local mechanic)

Been a while since I've updated this thread. Today I sold the S3, a very happy new owner indeed. I've got one final photo I took post clean. I was slightly upset watching it drive off into the distance, but on to greater things. Keep your eyes on the A5/S5/RS5 forums to see what's next :icon thumright:

A beautiful S3. I would be sad to see it go as well.
Hope you'll find something amazing ! Would be nice if you posted here what you got (and a link to its new home on the forum).

Cheers,
