Carista App

I have Carista for about 3 years and have to admit it’s quite handy tool. You can’t program on it but it has a lot of functions You can activate on Your car.
Down side is subscription for year about £33.99. I tested it on my A7 2015 3.0TDi, A6 2005 3.0TDi and now on my S4 2010 3.0.

It's a good tool for sure, and if you're on android there is ways to uhh, use it 100% for free...

I don't agree with the pricing model for this though.

Where did you find it for free? I've tried a couple of cracked versions but none work.
 
Hi does anyone know what the difference is for the cluster region? Mine is set to Germany.
Also will the throttle response setting be available for the b8. (currently available on mk7 VW)

Just been out and tested it out. A bit annoying that you have to select a mode whilst stationary (so not 'proper' ADS like I had on my S3 where you can change mode whilst driving), also no efficiency mode and as I don't have sports suspension, can't adjust that either. But not bad for free! :D
 
Just throttle response is worth it but yea annoying you have to stop to change it. mine has sline suspension anyway so I don’t mind that not changing.
 
Does anyone know if the free trial allows switching off the Stop/Start nonsense ? Cheers.

(I've contemplated buying a year's subscription just to get rid of this senseless, infuriating function)

you can buy a week sub for £9.99 I paid £33.99 for the year and wish I didn’t
 
I got the free trial on my wife's phone ;)
And yes, I did see an option to disable stop/start there.
Another good one is auto dipping passenger mirror on reverse (enable it then make sure the toggle is set to that mirror when you put it in reverse), it will also remember the position if you enable that option as well!

Carista have, thanks to yours truly, just added an option to reduce the time delay between door opening and alarm sounding from factory set 15 secs to 0 sec. Look for

"Anti-theft system delay between trying to open door and alarm firing".

You'll need to used the plastic valet key to open the door without disarming the alarm to test. Tested and working!

As well as the valet key you can also use the blade from the normal keys. However in both instances, you have to wait 60 secs after locking the car to then use the key in the lock to open the door without disarming the alarm to test.

Carista have, thanks to yours truly, again, come up with a setting to cancel the very annoying ignition on-door open chime.

In customisation go to I think beeps and chimes and select disable open door chime while engine is on and try that, if no luck then go to I think chassis and engine and select auto start stop system with engine running and drivers door opened go to step two, ignoring step 1 & 3, and select version 2 of only step 2. And that is it. You're welcome.

I could set to to my preferred dipped angle but it wouldn't return to the original set, normal driving position. It would move further up, past this point, as though it wanted to complete the full motion of movement.

Do you have to set it whilst in reverse or some other method?

I had the same issue of my passenger door mirror returning past it's normal setting when shifting out of reverse so I stopped using it. I'll have another look for the reducing alarm entry on door opening update and see if I can alter the mirror setting.

Picking up my new (to me) B8 A4 on Saturday and I'm keen to do this and the remove ignition chime as soon as I get it home.

Is the alarm delay to 0 seconds a toggle, or can you set custom values?
 
What obd2 adaptor do you guys use or recommend for this?

actually csrista one or are there better ones?

think will get the all but need a Bluetooth reader for it

Andy I plugged my Carista in yesterday and checked all the options, but couldn't find any reference to reducing the time delay on triggering the alarm :-(

Couldn't get the first option to work, will try the second one. I would love to get rid of that ding!

I found it and made the change, although i haven't tested it. I'm taking a look at it again later and will take screenshots/vid.

You’ve found the holy grail then because until now nobody’s been able to achieve this.

i'm on the v5.1 beta, so if you are not, you may not find it in the general release version. checking shortly.

Should steps one and three of [auto start stop system with engine running and drivers door opened] be enabled or not enabled?
 
I’ve checked on my Carista app and I’ll be damned if I can find the bit to change alarm delay.
B8 S4.

Carista is version 5.1
 
Hi

Wonder if anyone had this issue, just removed fault for headlamp level sensor after changing unit all good and added the needle sweep for fun, however the fuel gauge needle now shows full ? Was definitely just half tank. May remove needle swap as thats all i changed.
