2.0 tfsi top speed?

Hi all,

Anyone else managed a top speed run in theirs?

I have the convertible so it is a bit heavier, but once it's at 130 it really struggles. Slowly creeps to 135 and that's about it. Obviously on a test track.

One time I was in sport so thought it may be that as there are only 6 gears, but it's the same in normal with the 7 gears. It's also had 2 different engines, both the same.

It's currently running 260+ bhp as well which I thought would have helped vs the stock top speed numbers.

the standard coupe can manage 245 Kph if it's healthy .
Mine has a stage 1 tune , 270 hp , can easily reach 240 Kph
with more to spare . maybe 260 Kph on a long run .

So yours easily reaches 150mph, thats 20mph more than mine with roughly the same power (for arguments sake)

I have around 200kg on the coupe so 10mph per 100kg gone

with 260hp + you should hit 150 no problem . I think standard cars can reach 150 .

If you're low on top speed , check your fuel filter .

How does one check their fuel filter?

ask your garage . It's probably in the fuel pump . If fuel filter is clogged , you might get hesitation
at the top end .

So your advice was to take it to the garage, but give them instructions rather than ask them to diagnose?

From personal experience , if fuel filter is clogged , you'll have hesitation around top speed/RPM .
Of course your garage can diagnose with the proper scanner , tools . Goes without saying .
