I’m pretty new to this so please bear with me, I’ve only really used VCDS for scanning for faults.

Measuring blocks? I want to check my oil and coolant temps as I believe I have an over cooling issue, maybe the thermostat.

How do I go about doing this?

Cheers (sorry).

Open vcds

Click Select Module

Open engine module 01

Click on ADV meas. values.

Window opens to the right,

Now type in Temperature in the top box that appears this will list anything with Temperature as a measuring point, tick the ones you want

The values will display in the window to the left.

I had a bit of a play with measuring blocks, very interesting. I think the key is to not be afraid if VCDS and experiment a bit to find your way around....

Yup, too many of us have VCDS but only push our selves when the need arises! I keep meaning to make up controller maps and typical field values for many parameters so that I can see what has gone wrong, or better going wrong, before trouble strikes!
