Does anyone have a good way to make the MMI connect to both bluetooth and android auto? AA is great for maps, but making a phone call through the phone's speaker is just daft. I can force bluetooth to connect by disconnecting AA and reconnecting, but this seems equally silly. Is there a good solution here?

Not sure what you mean, if you're connected via AA that needs Bluetooth and a wire anyway? Android auto (if you mean the full version with it connected to your car's screen) will let you take phone calls through that. Works brilliant for me.

So if I just get into the car, connect the wire and start driving, AA will be connected. But whenever I go to make a call, it gets routed through the phone speaker. The only way I can find to get the call routed to the car speakers is to connect it over bluetooth.

Problem is that the MMI refuses to connect over bluetooth when AA is connected. Only way to do this seems to be to disconnect AA wire, connect over bluetooth, then connect AA again - not exactly a handsfree operation. Any ideas?

That's what I'm saying , sounds like your AA isn't working properly. For AA to connect to the car you'll connect the wire but it'll also connect via Bluetooth. Any incoming calls will come through the cars speaker or outgoing, that is how it has worked on both of my Audi's with AA.

I have just bought a car with AA fitted and also have noticed that whenever I get a call it's through the phone speaker and not the car. I s it a setting issue or is it a limitation on the software??

There is definitely a setting for this in the car when AA is connected, mine was doing this and I eventually found it.

Unfortunately my car is back in the dealers again so can't go out to find what it was.

Not sure mate! In both my S3 and S5 it automatically goes through the car speakers. It might be to do with the "access permissions" for AA on your phone itself. Apologies not much help, but not had this issue.

No worries mate. Access permissions did come up when I first installed it so maybe it's something I have missed or the phone itself is the restriction?
It's a cheap ish but new 2020 Oppo A5..

It could be the cable. Not all usb/usb c cables use all the pins/wires. had same issue with an iPhone/CarPlay and it initially only worked with genuine apple cable or the Audi cable not the cheap eBay/amazon cables in both the Audi and Land Rover. Found anker makes good cables and works well in both now.

Ah! that could be the issue? Bought a pack of 5 cables from Amazon for around £6. I checked them on my pc which asks for file transfers ect so not just charging?? Get what you pay for I suppose lol
