That article talks a bit of rubbish! It states new rear lights and interior air vents? Can’t see any difference to mine! new tech? VC is the same and hasn’t been updated? It states new Audi Connect features but not sure about MMI?
i agree, it looks the same inside, apart from the gear lever - think the change is on the outside only!
the auto car write up says air vents too - but cant see how theyre different

It also looks like they've added a 12v and possibly USBs at the rear. Fingers crossed they added a glove box light
I read that there is a possibility that the 1.5 might be available as Stronic/Quattro which would be a tempting proposition. I went to one of the private invitation Q2 launches in Audi London when the model was 1st announced...and back then the product manager said that a 1.4 quattro was on the cards...it never appeared.

From the surface of it, it looks like the same MMI. I wonder if the firmware could be updated to benefit from the new features...I'm surprised they didn't add the touchscreen.
Could also be new mmi hardware, meaning Google overlay might continue beyond this year..
I would think so. The VC in the facelift is the same as the current model, which is strange as it will be the only Audi with that model VC in 2021, let alone 2025 when it comes to the end of its 4yr cycle.
Software in the MMI is the same as the current model and not the same as the new Audi models so same argument as the VC.
Bit of a weird update really, seems very much out of sync with the other Audi models interior tech & design wise.
I think Audi (along with most other manufacturers) find themselves in a tricky position:
1) The lockdown at end of March left a lot of unsold inventory - there are thousands of 9 month+ old new cars, unregistered out there. Non franchised car dealers have delivery mileage used cars on their forecourts.
2) We are in a recession and people with discretionary spend available are being cautious, there is considerable uncertainty in the job market, especially with furlough coming to an end.
3) The manufacturers only vehicles with decent fuel economy are diesels and they have been getting bad press/cities are proceeding with banning them.
4) The mass market is turned on to the idea of going Electric - challenge being that EVs with a decent range, comparable even to a petrol car with a full tank of fuel are rare - and when available still too expensive.
In sales it is a case of 'selling what you have got' which isn't EVs in Audi's case (E-Tron is silly money and has a 200 mile range in the real world)...so people are sitting on the fence and Audi can see this - hence the Q2 facelift is minimal - a token effort at best.
The proof is that used car prices are rock solid right now, people are hanging on to cars - on WBAC my RSQ3 has risen in value by about £4k in the last 3 months.

true but disagree a little regarding the minimal facelift reasons. The Q2 facelift design and implementation would have been thought out in 2018 or before, way before COVID-19 and after the design of the new A3 and other new design models. We saw the facelift Q2 leak images in December 2019 I think. I don’t really know what Audi are doing with the Q2. I’m not complaining, I like the interior of the Q2, but it makes no sense to not give it the new VC and a little more to keep it in line.
images were released in November 2019, so i think this was all decided long before covid - but agree - could of had the new VC or some other updates
that said, ive got the last of the old shape and i love it, not sure id bother with the new shape regardless
You wouldn't want the interior from the new A3, a complete backward step to scratchy plastics...
i saw one and an A1 in the showroom when looking, thought they were both awful - plastics were a real backwards, and while the new VC and touchscreen were nice (i do love the MMI wheel though) the rest was rubbish for me - hated the airvent passenger dash part especially
