Fan running - is it normal

After a drive, when I switch the engine off, and shut & lock the doors, I can hear the fan under the bonnet still running.
Is this normal behaviour?
I couldn't find a similar thread.

Sounds like the DPF going through a regen. It's pretty normal, just make sure it goes on a decent 2k RPM run to keep it clear.

Does it on my (petrol) S3 sometimes. Perfectly usual.

10 mins roughly.

Once a month, I usually take it for a one hour run on the motorway at 60mph, in 6th gear, on cruise control just to warm everything up.

Hopefully, that will be enough.
