What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Are they a straight swap?
Does it matter that it says "off road" on the packet?
Yes straight swap. They're D1S so factory fitment bulb.

Off road I'm sure means that strictly they wouldnt pass an MOT. But bulbs are the least of my worries.

I was fancying some upgrade bulbs for mine, just realised you have factory xenons? So those bulbs won't fit in my car, good job i checked first!
Indeed, yes I'm just after upgrading my car to Xenons.

I have a second AFS set I might sell cheap if you're interested?

You're a man not afraid of some work for a retrofit!

All the factory plugs, sensors, brackets and control module with it too

Put some RS6 19x9 et 35 with 255/35 on.
Lucky find on ebay and got cheeeeep

My spanking new and unmarked veeman front offside had a close encounter with very well camoflauged granite curb stone last month, needless to say it left a few marks that will not polish out....a refurb on the very near horizon now..:sadlike:

With your wheel fetish Rob I’m surprised you haven’t just bought a new set!

lol, i'm not that bad.
I did get a price for a new single rim though , then decided to just live with a scuff's for now.

Staying on, i'll be getting a replacement for the scuffed one and put that as the spare, it is allways good to have a spare and one that fits..lol

Caught a dribble coming from under my glovebox today whilst parking up.l, so took a look at my plenum chamber. As expected it was around 2inch deep with water.

Looks like its never been done before either so popped the grommets and gave it a good old clean.

Fingers crossed that sorts the musty smell and damp passenger rear footwell issues

Well caught.
Are the grommets visable with the battery in place? And are you leaving them out?

Had my rear control arms changed today, with camber bolts. Annnnnd my forth Eibach spring is now in place. It rides even better now with one on each corner.
My trusted Indy garage fitted them for me, and even they struggled with my car up on the ramps. Apparently the control arm inner bolts just aren't designed to be removed.
She sits better too now, but the near side still seems slightly higher than the offside. I have to fit the Bilstein bump stops now, so need to check that I have mine seated correctly.

ps ignore the kerbed rims (girlfriend) they'll be changed for Stuttgart grey ones soon.

Has anyone ever drilled a drainage hole below their Convenience Module?

I'm considering this or possibly relocating it behind the glovebox. Madness to keep it where it is given the known water issues.

Keep the original drain holes clean and you won't have any problems

You could possibly see the one under the servo, but definitely easy with the battery out. Well i cleaned the actual drain grommet with some precision pressure washing as it was blocked with a sludgy build up, then left the one out that sits under the battery.

I'll definitely be adding a plenum chamber inspection to my annual service schedule i me thinks

The convenience module as in under the carpet under the passenger seat? I personally dont like the idea of drilling holes in the floor, could end up with water ingress from underneath mybe

I imagine audi thought the idea through, just lack of maintenance causes issues, like most things really come the think of it

Im sure they would like to sell a convenience module every now and then, so they rely on people who ignore basic maintenance.

Well, been busy lately, work and other cars, had a knock develop on the A4, balljoint on drivers side, so had a new arm fitted Saturday. Vacuumed and cleaned in between the showers.
Afraid I've got some bad news, put the car up for sale late Saturday night, and sold it on Sunday, sad to se it go, 3 years and 40k, no real problems except front upright and a broken spring on rear. Great automobile.
Also got rid of one of the other cars, a classic mini, had 7 cars between us here so really had to slim it down.
Really must thank everyone who has helped me on here, very much appreciated, learnt a lot, and kept spirits up during lockdown reading everyone's input.
Unfortunately the a4 isn't getting replaced by another audi, but still German, sorry.
Couple weeks ago we bought a (2nd) mk2 golf, which will be getting the audi s3 engine that's sat in the garage, so dont feel quite so guilty.
All the best, sure I'll be popping in now and again, cheers Dave.

Sad that see you sold it Dave, but understand something had to give. Shame it was the A4 though.
Good luck with the Golf, and don't forget where we are.
All the very best, Al.

Looks like a clean shell on that MK2! Its the biggest regret I have selling my Mk2 golf. I've owned a few over the years and a few years ago sold my 16V oak green, and then the prices for them started to sky rocket. Sold mine for 2.5k, I think today I would be able to get around 6k. Such fun cars to drive, always on the look out to pick another one up!

Thanks guys, was lucky to find a good mk2 cheap, well, both of them were .
Already missing the A4, and mini went today so that was also a sad moment.
I've managed to end up with a spare brand new drivers door lock in my spares I've collected, if anyone wants it for cost of postage send me a PM and I'll sort that, may find other bits too when sort shed, know theres a steering wheel (not S line) with airbag and an automatic dip mirror. Popup lighter is on Ebay but may be up for grabs if no interest.
Cheers

First jobs!! Car had intermittent boost and idled roughly
So just had a gfb diverter valve, 034 silicone tip, piper cross panel filter and 4 NGK BKR7EIX Plugs fitted, blimey!! It now feels like a 2.0T. The plug I took out of cylinder 1 was less than hand tight and covered in oil...

Picked up a full black headlining set last weekend so was keen to get that in. Unfortunately it had begun to sag so decided to dye my grey one as upholstery is not for me! Overall I’m very happy, completely changes the feel of the car. Finally removed the rear seats to fit the matching Black Leather rears, ended up cleaning and too dark for after photos though

Man what a pain in the butt when you've never done it before. Easy when you know how, and with two people!

Yea that’s put mine to shame! When I swapped my rears the ones I put in had something brown, sweet and very very sticky on! I think it’s cough medicine. I tried getting as much as could out of the foam but it’s still seeped through and made everything brown
