Next Gen 2021 Audi A3 Sedan Debut

£55k Thats a nicely optioned 718 price tag

I know and I think that’s where people will head to if these prices keep going through the roof
The vorsprung price is going to be a bit worrying when it gets published
Wonder if it will get a performance hike to match the performance overpricing
Really am considering scrapping the idea of an rs3 as these prices are getting stupidly high for an a3

Bonkers money, if you don’t need the seats I’d go get the Porsche now.

Think I need to do some homework
I’ve been in a next gen rs3 zone for so long I may find it hard to get out of it
I’ve not given any thought on other manufacturers as I really don’t like the looks of the m2 or the a45 AMG to be fair hence why the Audi
But money talks at the end of the day and the competition is looking more appealing going on the pricing of the S3 thus far
Saying that I’m just loving my 19 plate S line 40tdi a4 ,25k bought me a decent car
Might just keep that

Vorsprung models are full of **** you dont need ie The drivers assistance pack which is almost £2k of options for starters, get that Vorsprung word oot yer heed for a start...and take it from there.....Lets talk prices of the new S3 for the moment ...PUT TO THE SIDE that it's just
a major face lifted car for the time being......it's not that more expensive than the pfl car was in 2017....No need to add Super Sport Seats or folding, mirrors or privacy glass on this car MATRIX CANDLES ARE ONLY £395...where £895 so far on the configurator.....but as it stands ATM they have taken away 19's and magnetic ride from the S3 Saloon...givith in one hand and takith away in the other.....Tis the Audi way.....`And going by the S3 configurator it's individual options list is larger than other Audi models

As l have said the only reason l aint ordering one is because it's a major face lifted car and not an ALL NEW CAR......Time for me to look elsewhere
l changed my 2015 s3 Sportback for a 2017 Face lifted Saloon...the changes Audi made between the 2 where quite big....Slightly more power, added an extra gear...ie a new gearbox Huge improvement, added the Virtual Cockpit Massive improvement, added the option of Matrix candles....huge improvement, added the interior design pack option....massive interior improvement, changed the design of the steering wheel, changed the sound of the exhaust....awesome improvement....

This version offers nothing different it's just wrapped in different body panels......l said to you before go look at the existing RS3....WHILST....it's still available.....

Really gonna give it some thought
A year is a long time
Sure it will be revealed in the not to distant
And decisions will be made
Could be a dead duck or just the ticket
Going on the s3 so far it’s a no no
Nice
But a pricey

Get yourself a Cupra Ateca...A hell of a car for the money...It's opened my eyes on staying brand faithful for the sake of it. I've had Audi's since 2005 and thought I would never change....Go figure lol

I'd be prepared to go to 60k for a 8Y RS3 saloon+options to be fair, but ONLY if it looks good. Judging by the S3.... not looking promising tbh.

If the base spec comes out next year and then another (6month?) wait for the sport or vorsprung edition.. I aint gonna bother waitin I don't think as the S3 is putting me off this 8Y iteration :(

I got a max of 60k too
If I have to go for a lesser spec for that 60k I’m out too that’s way too much for a low spec rs3
And again it’s got to wow me too
I’m thinking now ,going on a all option s3 1 edition is 55k
A rs3 vorsprung is gonna be well over 60k

I don't think it can go in excess of 60k, looking at the RSQ3 vorsprung is 62k, they'd be mad to price RS3 even close, let alone over that

But what a lovely pig it is! If you do t need the space you would get in RS3, this is a no brainer And would seriously hold its value

Like any car you buy, you need to sit in one and have a good look around it and then drive the thing. The S3 is certainly a car that will need this before you leave a deposit for one. Like most are saying in this thread, the more you look into the new S3 the more your unsure about it. I think when we all see a well speced one in the showroom we might just like it!

Lol...Wise choice mate. Even if you keep it for over four years you are going to still get a decent price for it. There's not much out there at the moment if you ain't keen on the new A3?.Maybe hold out for the new four wheel drive Hyundai I30 N

Kinda the same with me ... I’d been with Audi since 2008 but the new A3 wasn’t inspiring me so I defected and the change was refreshing & it definitely feels like I’ve got a brand new car & the advancements are massive over my 2016 Audi. Now the real facts & figures are out on the new A3 it’s clearly got a lot of people questioning their next car purchase.

I suppose it's like what @SPIKE_S3 says. The jury's out till you actually get in one. Getting into a different brand of car is refreshing. I have had seven Audi's now including the wife's A3 and Q3 and really enjoyed them all especially my first one an A4 Quattro Sport on a 2003 plate. That car still makes me smile when I think about it. Lovely colour also Ming Blue. but I think for now I am done with Audi's for a bit. I like the new shape A3 to be fair and certainly won't dismiss it if I change car again? but will look at all brands before pushing the button.

It’s not going to be a bad car just disappointing it’s more of a facelift than new model, however they dress it up it’s still the same mechanicals underneath.

The interior is marmite and some of the exterior styling is a bit suspect and cheap looking in places.

Will be interesting if they give the RS a power increase, strange if they don’t.

I think the biggest problem here is that the current car in face-lift form was bang on the money on every level - int / ext styling, quality of materials, power, tech, price .... the same may of course be true for the new car when the face-lift comes out.

Agree, likely to look pretty good, and the exterior is the best part. Interior not to all tastes at the mo, and limited options like no design pack etc etc.
Real killer is the "old" version of the E888 powerplant

Same with the Golf GTI carrying on with GTI performance engine and assume R will remain unchanged now.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the RS3 stay at 400 with it being heavily used in RSQ3 etc.

Either diesel gate is still hurting the group or they don’t see value in developing new petrol units.

Av got into more new BMW's of late than l care to remember......the initial buzz as l call it soon turns to realization when you start to notice little things you dont like...which can add up.....but l must admit the 135iM only had few things l didnt like about its interior....one major point was the autobox gear lever in high gloss black....wtf....Seat coverings where excellent microfibre/textile cloth.....but it's a hatchback... X
@Snake Pliskin mentioned the new RS3....my RS3 boat sailed of into the sunset in 2016 a 400 bhp car is of no interest to me....as l get older
and you mentioning that Hyundai i30N thats just not me mate AT ALL....lol nor is a Focus ST of which l do like the looks of and it's available with a Panoroof.....but Fords build quality has gone down hill big time since l last owned a ST3...I could easily option an S3 Saloon again to the same spec l have just now.....Vorsprung plus a exclusive paint......Avril says go for a YOLO car....and the Porsche 718....in Miami Vice Blue with a PDK Box on 20's with a few other options comes in at £55k....is me... over the back.....would'nt buy one without some discount though lol.....i'll see how things go come the beginning of next year

400 bhp only comes into it's own after a certain speed...license loosing speeds,NO exhaust sound...soft limiter.....basically lost its drama has the RS3 engine for me anyways......

718 in your colour with options sounds spot on mate, reckon you def don’t need another 4 door, and that will hold its value even better than your current S3 with no shadow of a doubt
