Not the first thing you think of when receiving your shiney new car, but we've recently planned a trip to Glencoe (should be an awesome drive!) and I realise that I don't seem to have any tools at all with the car.

The space saver is there, but contains a sub woofer (i thought those were optional extras?? its not part of the equipment list in the book, could be added from another S3?).

What should I expect if the car was brand new? Is there a tool roll? If so, what does it contain? Does it come with a jack?

How do i go about getting replacements and are they expensive?

Thanks

Have you checked the side panel on the right inside your boot ?

Is it a 5 door? If so then the tool kit should be behind the light cluster access panel on the right side.

Did you remove the boot carpet completely or just "hinge" it up? The jack is in the rear section of the wheel well in a polystyrene tray

Hmmm, it turned out I had actually checked very little inside my boot! I was too hasty.

So I have an immaculate jack, tool roll, first aid kit, warning triangle and unused space saver. Very relieved.

For the benefit of others, here's where they are hidden

It varies from car to car. Mine was a 18 plate from a dealer. The tool roll was under the boot floor on the left rear, instead of behind the rhs panel. First aid kit is somewhere in the cabin (can’t remember, maybe under my drivers seat Or inside the rear seat armrest) and also you should have hi-vis vests somewhere in the cabin - in the front of the rear bench in the centre is a pull out drawer.

Yeah Check under drivers seat. That's where mine is..Also on the saloon (hatch and 3door maybe??) in the middle of the rear seats there is a hatch that's got a high viz vest in.:icon thumright:

lol don't worry mate, I phoned the dealership when I first got my car as I couldn't find anything including locking wheel nuts! Even he didn't know...he had to put me on hold to go and ask a tech guy...

I'd looked under the normal plastic handled flap where the spare tyre was and nothing, even looked in the side pockets and nothing:

He told me there is a hidden cover right at the back of the boot near the rear seats, stupid place!!! I'm over 6ft and had to proper stretch to get to it, especially as it's a coupe:

My A4 B8 avant was like that. Well actually you could lift out the boot floor and still find only the wheel and jack. There was a section of floor at the back that hinged up the full width, and under that a tray of tools. Much neater than the crap polystyrene blocks and cheapo flimsy plastic tool roll in my current S3.

Police Interceptors quote I'm sure I've heard multiple times "Audi A3 is a drug dealers car"
What omggh who said that? maybe old 8P in full black with front tinted windows but new A3/S3 in other colors DEFO not drug car...
I would say SUV's black range rover are now drug dealers cars.. black BMWs..
