Anyone used them to buy a car?

They seem to be on the ball with prices, calling, emails and the reviews online seem OK, just wondering if anyone on here has had dealings and what they thought? I spoke to Gordon this morning and he seems a really nice guy.

After a lot of test drives, talking to friends and certain members on here about which way to go with regards to which car, lease, pcp or buy new/second hand! I've decided to buy new. For the very low miles I do I just can't justify the best part of £400 each month on a car just to give back at the end, if I was doing 10k a year then yes I'd stick to pcp/leasing, but I do under 4k per year, so a new car should last me years!!

From the start I said, small, cheap, sporty and fun, so I'm going for the Fiesta ST3 in frozen white, comes with everything I need as standard, privacy glass, B&O, performance pack, red brakes, quaife limited slip differential, recaro seats, Nav, parking sensors and rear cam, heated screen, 18" alloys, cruise etc. etc. I'm looking to keep it for at least 5 years, so adding the 5 year extended factory warranty for £350 (which is transferable if you sell the car) and I'll be buying the service pack which covers you for 4 years of breakdown cover and 3 anual services, cost for that is £480. Audi wanted £452 for just for my 2nd service last year :D

I'm under no illusion that quality and materials are down on what I'm used to, but it's coming in at under £21k, so I have to compromise somewhere! The hour test drive I had in March before the lockdown was great fun.

It will be the same as this one, going for white as it's low key and easy to look after!

To be fair to Ford, I don't think the interior materials are that much of a downgrade over Audi. I was very impressed with my test drive.

I really wanted to pull the trigger on a 3 door ST3, but circumstances at that time made it just too much of a compromise size wise. Bought an X3 instead. Month later, circumstances changed, and the Fiesta would now be the ideal car. Was pretty gutted about it all really. Fiesta was a hoot to drive, and if bought, it would have been driven like I was back in my 20's. Would have been a shed load cheaper too. My S3 + £3k. Oh well ....

Gotta really disagree with you on the quality on everything between a ford compared to a Audi..and it's not just the quality...its how things just work so much better in a Audi compared to a Ford ......l do like the Ford Fiesta but l couldn't live with one longterm my Mrs has had one for 2 years
Dislikes
Paint quality
MMi
Steering wheel shape/size and button ergonomics
Tiny luggage in rear
Plastics
Glass in door mirrors too small

Good looking
Chuckable great chassis
Steering fast and accurate
Far cheaper than a S3 in every way and that's why they ain't comparable, but if l where in market for a car in this class..it would definitely be on my shortlist

3 year pcp deal with Ford options trade it in after 2

Don’t know any good leasing or PCP companies in the UK as haven’t used them there, but I was amazed to see that nearly all companies/websites are offering the TT at just over £200 a month! That’s got to be a good deal no?

edit: scrap that TT deal. Most show the A4 Avant at £190!! I’m moving back to the UK! My Q2 is over 500chf here!

^^UK deals are mental, in France an RS3 with a decent spec is close to 1000euro per month lease.

Congrats on the ST3, the best of its type at the moment and shows how much fun cars can be.......if i were looking for a small hot motor i would choose an ST3 over an S3 all day long, no way is the S3 worth twice the price.

Yeah, there are some noticeable downgrades, like the MMI. But plastics, I could live with, (I spent years in Subaru's, who's interiors were made of the thin plastic you find in Chocolate sweet boxes) and didn't think they were that bad. But it is a £20k car. Personally I think (apart from the tech) the interior of the Fiesta is better than that of an A1. Which is far more expensive. But we all think differently.

But yeah, an Fiesta can't be compared to an S3. Totally different cars.

That's handy to know :) I was told the price includes delivery as well, did you get yours delivered or did you collect? I recall someone jumping on a plane to get down South!?!?

My old S3 was about £28.5k after discount (bought in 2014), would I pay that again if I could get another one?...yes, but only if I were to start doing the milage I was then! I just want a small cheap sporty fun car, it's not just about the outlay cost, it's the servicing, warranty and parts long term. 12 month warranty on my current car if I were to keep it came in at over £500! against £350 and covered for 5 years on the ST :) the other option was this MX5 RF, the wife wasn't over fussed on that and it had zero practicality! 13 months old 7,000 on the clock, next 2 services paid for, £21k, top GT version:

Rf

Exactly mate, when the guy on the test drive asked me what I thought of the interior I said "No disrespect, but I have to accept it's not as nice inside, but my A5 list was £38k this isn't, for the money this will do me".

Funny thing is my nephew said he will have the ST off me in a few years, his insurance is too high at the moment, but in 3-4 years he'll be OK :p

Good to hear, haven’t used before myself, but often seem to offer great pricing and service. Enjoy the SQ2, what spec and colour did you go for?

Am I right in thinking this didn’t happen @S32B as they jacked the prices up? As I am sure you posted elsewhere about that and the GAP renewal in A5?

standard SQ2 with a lot of options - tech and comfort packs, side assist, 19" alloys - only downside is the MY20 have dropped start/stop push button and high beam assist (in conjunction with auto dim rear view mirror)
the dealer is trying to see if they can be added or if we can upgrade to the vorsprung model which includes all of the above as standard and adds a pano-roof (seems to be discontinued on there systems for ordering)

Yeah sadly c-19 happened and the world went to pot and orders stopped, then Ford put the price up twice and took away the £1,000 deposit allowance! it was under £300pm when I first enquired, now they want around £370pm for the same car!....no thanks.

thats shocking of Ford (would of been them not C2C though) - my other mrs loves the fiesta but your right - the monthlys even after discounts and 0% apr are well over £300 for a basic 1l titanium......

My wife was never 100% sold on it tbh, she said if you want one get one, but I could see she wasn't 100% onboard!
