Proud owner of 2020 OPF RS3. While I was waiting on the lockdown to ease to release the car from the showroom, I have been getting my fix by browsing through this forum. Have been an absolute thrill running the car in, done sedate 500 so far.. however....

I've noted the following to keep in mind as an owner, not in any order..

Squeaky brakes - (annoyance)
Inside tyre wear - (critical , check)
OEM windscreen blades juddering - (experienced this when raining, on a new car! with 80 miles on the clock)
Exhaust flaps Rattle (not yet)
Warped Front Discs (hopefully not for a long time)
Car Jacking (Don't want to think about it)
Audi Dealer Repair Avoid ?

any other gotcha's

Get Ghost fitted.

Can’t be started even if they have the keys.

Mine made my right foot super heavy and started turning my earnings in to petrol. Keep an eye on that.

10 months in with my OPF RS3, brakes haven’t squealed yet, no squeaky wipers and tyres and brakes are holding up well!

As mentioned, the black exhaust tips flake/corrode and seems to be a consistent issue as all 3 of my Audi’s have done this even after ceramic coating!!

Mines stage 1 tune with REVO and as part of it they remove the annoying flap rattle...plus a bonus with some extra power and pops/burbles added in :redface new:

The exhaust sound does improve with some miles though.

Enjoy the new car :icon thumright:

Easiest way to avoid that....... don’t let them near it.

Rusty rear discs and hubs. Less than 2500 miles on mine and the centres looked horrific. Ended up painting them, but will replace the discs completely I think. The hubs were looking horribly corroded also. I've wire wheeled them off and coated with some anti-sieze. Much of that may havee been my cleaning regimen, but it was still shocking to see on such a new car.

Also had wiper judder, but seems to have calmed down with a. new set of blades and a few miles.

Get Paul and PCWMods to sort your exhaust/sound:

https://www.exhaustmods.co.uk/

He is a legend, and will give you varying options depending on how loud/throaty etc you want it

Juddering wipers and exhaust rattle are only ones I've really taken note of.

Squeaky brakes on occasion but most of my previous cars have a had performance pads in which were way worse noise wise so don't see it as an issue.

I have the 19 OPF RS3 & the only annoyance i have is the wiper blades, judders all the time they are used unless you use the washers, i will be getting some Bosch blades this week.

Other than that i am absolutely smitten with it.

Considering the PIAA silicone blades myself.

Regards the keyless start, I agree completely with ghost and faraday pouch. The keyless start can be disabled by touching the lock pad a few seconds after locking with the remote key fob. To unlock you then have to hit the unlock button on the remote. Helpful for relay theft protection if you don't have a ghost (but get a ghost and don't use the app with it as its less secure!).

Also, saw a post from T-800 about using VCDS to permanently disable the keyless entry in addition to Ghost to be pedantic.

Yes that’s correct.
One less thing to worry about if it’s disabled.

Guys, I live in Sydney. I have a 2015 RS3 with 38500km on the clock. I still haven’t changed the original Breaks. Don’t let Audi talk you into changing them if they are not needed to be. If you track your car or driving very hard every day there is absolutely no need to change your discs at 15000-20000km. Live I’ve said, I’ve done 38500km and have just bought DBA aftermarket wavy design with pads(will let you know exact mode) for $1250 Australian $.

Do you make lots of trips to Perth and not use your brakes?!

A ha. A smart ***! Well done.
Nope. You guys are just easily dupped! Audi says to jump you say how high!

My breaks work 100% fine still now. A little squeaking but that’s normal.
You should make your own decisions in the end. Your breaks may be shot so measure them to make sure they are within guidelines. Mine were in so I didn’t change them. Simple.

Lol, a lighthearted comment! Where’s that Aussie sense of humour?!

To be fair to me, I go easy on the brakes and can barely recall ever having to replace pads and discs. I’d never have Audi change them, that’s for sure. Only the servicing for the stamp.

Mate you’re gona have to wine and dine me 1st!! ha!
Just looking out for you. There is absolutely no need to use the Audi network. If they didn’t rip you sideways I would probably bring it there. They are a bunch of criminals and rely of gullible people.
Find a good mechanic and get it done privately.

Windscreen wipers, change the factory wipers for a full set of Bosch ones.
Incredible change, no judder, actually takes the rain off the screen and just a good quality product.

I'm gonna get some foam and pad the sunroof surround so much that it can't clunk over potholes.

Just my take on an excellent list above.

Squeaky Brakes:
Common occurrence on my 2018 RS3.
Rare occurrence on my 2019 RS3.

Inside tyre wear:
2018 FL RS3 no issues.
2019 FL RS3 horrible inside wear.

OEM windscreen blades:
Replace with Bosch blades front & back, get the full set including the wiper arms. No more juddering.
