Bought my first Q5 on Friday after selling my A3 8V 1.8 TFSI Quattro a few years ago. Any thoughts on first mods? Already been put to work on Tractor duty.

Why modify an Audi... pointless imho. Save your money and buy the one you want next time .

What a stupid post !!!

If you’ve nothing nice to say about a members car then say nothing.

Really, it’s a nice Q5 why mess.

Agreed but its up to the individual isn’t it ?

You don’t know what mods he might want.

Was a bit harsh what you said to him.

Apologies @Jake Baxter I am being told off for being harsh... to explain... unless you are keeping a car forever I do believe modding will a. reduce value on resale and b. limit the people who are interested in a modified car... I appreciate we are all free to do whatever but my intention was to suggest modifications are not always a good idea unless OEM options. For example we have a 2009 TT runaround and I hated the 17 in wheels so bought OEM 18in wheels which probably adds to enjoyment and value (but only marginally)

Borrowed this for a morning last week and it definitely doesn't need modding... Just a respray in Black!!

No problem, when I say 'modding'. On my previous A3 I added an RS3 grille, S3 exhaust, quattro stickers, new 18" alloys. Of which I would call tasteful and hopefully not to affect resale. I totally get what your saying as it is personal preference

RS Grill looks good. I had one on my RS3. I would keep original bits and replace when you come to sell... or save the money for the car to go with the grill!! quattro stickers on a non quattro is a bit too wannabe for me.

Just sold our 20 plate Vorsprung 45 Sportback. Nice enough but...and zero depreciation since March.

How come you sold it so soon? Interested to hear your thoughts on the Q3 experience? Vorsprung 45 would be a cracking car.

Having had a few Audi over the years I think I can comment objectively but from a personal perspective.
I run a 69 RS4. The Q3 was to be a regular use car and daily driver for my wife. I found it boring as hell and after an S3 rather sluggish and unengaging. These are my personal views and I’m sure the Q3 is a fine motor for many people. We bought an old TT (as per signature)as a run around and that is just so much more fun. The Q3 Vorsprung has so many bells and Whistles it takes the fun out of driving. Being an suv the handing isn’t great so we decided to get rid... currently looking at a Carrera 4S so appreciate my needs and budget aren’t the same as everybody. I will not buy a Q3 again but they fill a niche in the market and suit some people for sure.
