The Inspection indicator has come up that it is due in 300 miles

How does the inspection duration get calculated and what does inspection mean?
The car was only serviced in March and has done 1400 miles.

Over the weekend the car was at VMAX200 so there would have been stress put on the car then.

The inspection “service” is just that, an inspection. Fluid levels will be topped up as necessary but oil won’t be changed. Thinking about it, my A4 (2014) never had a separate inspection service, but I had it serviced annually.

I'm sure the inspection and oil were in sync for mileage as well as days and the number of days are still the same now.
I was wondering if spending all day under full acceleration up to 170mph has triggered something.
The only incident where I caused an issue was that I failed to engage launch control properly and it showed EPC and Engine warning light for a second.
Rest of the day the car was fine and the 220 miles drive home.

Don't want to just take it to the dealers for them to charge me to reset the counter if there is an underlying issue that the computer identified and needs to be checked out.

It's booked into the dealer to get it reset for free.
I still think something has happened that has caused the computer to remove 7,000 miles for the next interval.
Hopefully they will do some basic diagnostics to find out what was the cause.

I've disabled inspection.. I know when I have to maintain car.. As it is constantly maintained... Kept oil

How exactly did you disable the inspection reminder in VCDS etc? As like you I only want the oil reminder and not having to keep resetting the inspection reminder.

Thanks for the video, but it shows how to reset the inspection reminder not how to permanemtly disable it. In the video at the end the Inspection reminder is reset back to 10,000 mil / 365 days. Can you actually permanently disable the inspection reminder?

And that's what I forgot I think I selected different similar option from menu and set to zero
