To be fair ... the TCR may hold better residuals than R’s for that very reason.
Previous Clubsport models held their money well for the same reason & quite desirable even now.
We had a Scirocco R a few years ago and that was around 260 bhp through the front wheels. It was a terrific car and very fun & agile to drive. A handful in the wet but on a dry road it was very rapid. I imagine the TCR is similar.
What the hell has a 0-60 time got to do with the enjoyment of how a car drives, unless all you are doing is racing off lights or going to a drag strip every day it means absolutely nothing.
The TCR has one of the fastest times recorded for a front wheel drive car round the Nurburgring, this means much more than some 0-60 time.

Completely agree .... a totally inappropriate post !
To me how a car accelerates is a big deal and a big reason why people buy performance cars .
Nurburgring times while impressive wouldn't bother me too much as you can't drive at them speeds on a public road for a long period of time .

Its a measurement of how a car handles at speed (even fast road legal speed) round corners, a much truer reflection of a performance car, not as simplistic or basic as a 0-60 time.
I'm not 18 anymore so I have grown out of racing people off the lights, that's all a 0-60 time is good for on the public road, or it's also useful if you are one of those sad blokes down the pub telling people how fast their car does 0-60 in.
As a member of quite a few car forums, this one simply seems to have turned into one were people just come on to put down other folks cars.
I appreciate that we all like different cars, it would be pretty boring if we didn't. However I expect that everyone on this forum is a genuine car enthusiast, and should be able to appreciate an other person's car and not feel the need to make comments, which frankly a lot of the time are very personal and seem unnecessary.

Looks cracking mate, but some aren’t fans of the various greys, like nardo etc. £33k for the loaded TCR @1.9APR does sound cracking. I would hazard the “new” S3 when it comes out will be a long way north of that.

Very smart, the small tweaks make a big difference to the stance of the car. There was a club sport in Broadway today, also stood out.
I agree it does look a cracking car like you said some people aran't fans of certain colours .

I have the occasional blast from the lights that are at the slip road joining to the motorway which is safe as I have to get up to speed to join the motorway traffic .
So i'am not contradicting myself at all . 9 times out of 10 I have my wife and two children with me and just happy to be in a nice car .

Who cares about 0-60? Surely the way the car drives trumps that boring statistic.
The TCR should hold value well which makes the purchase price less important.

I care when i'am paying a lot of money for a performance car . Of course how it drives matters but it is each to their own on what's more important when buying a car .
