Next Gen 2021 Audi A3 Sedan Debut

I thought the same until I sat in it. I’m sure higher specs would be more impressive..

looks pretty decent to me for the lower spec
be interesting to see the vorsprung version with all its toys

Finally managed to see a new A3 in the metal.. personally looks a lot better in real life, though only a mid spec sline I thought the interior was good.. can see how it would look great in higher spec and performance versions... not sold on the wired dash top stitching, would be ok if was leather wrapped dash though..

This was in classic Daytona..

Not a fan of all the angular stuff in there. Good to see they are running the battery down :whistle2:

It had the basic smaller VC screen, so yeh was a little smaller..

The dash board is much more driver focused in my opinion, felt more wraparound cockpit like..

Ah right ... didn't realise there was a smaller VC screen, so yes that would explain it.

Its the vents on the back bumper that i'am not sure about but I'll hold judgement until I see the S/Rs3

Think they will reduce in size on the rear as like the RSq8 but if still fake sure someone will make some 3d printed copies with actual holes in em

Or just get the drill out

Shouldn’t have to do that on a 60k car tho lol

VAT reduced only on cars l assume

there have been rumours of vat coming down to 15% as it did the last time there was an major economical problem, if that is proven to be true, then good time buy??

It's Classy looking that's for sure especially Daytona which is great for showing light and shadow in the scuplted door design, S-line or not apart from the alloys which are nice the S3 wont look much different externally than the car here...looks like it's got optional full leather front seats??,only got one quibble with the interior and that's the cup holders ye cant hide them and the position they are now in they should be,in the current car they are far less noticeable, steering wheel design has not changed one bit apart the buttons but glad they kept circular airbag cush instead of using the slightly squared off triangular one in other models...looks promising but l bet you this car retailed about £30k plus

The last recession it dropped here's hoping it drops then as Audi's APR for the new A3 is 6-5% l think which is far too high

Main cockpit screen looks quite small ... is that just the photo ?

Did it look ok in real life ?

Maybe its because of the fixed clusters at the side

Looks small to you coz half of your dashboard jumped off the shelf from the nearest PC world ...lol

No Sir, was On it like an RS bonnet
you must be old if you remember Peter's & Lee

Glad i have my deposit down for a build slot, a month ago tomorrow
I like that, if of course it does end up anything like this
Black or carbon pack would suit better on the 444hp which i would go for
I'm in regardless
anybody want to hazard a guess on pricing
I got tops 60K to spend

£60k ....**** for a RS3....Madness...me being a old codger lol l can remember way back when the first 8V Rs3 started at around £38k new and that was only 4 years ago...car world has gone crazy

Those vents above the dash infotainment screen are hideous. Externally it looks OK- seems only the new gen Golf has been beaten with the ugly stick in new gen A3/Golf/Octavia/Leon. It's not very popular next to the Golf 7.5.

Can't see it happening this time around. Lots of pent up demand for cars. Plenty unaffected by COVID-19 if they worked right through or are about to start back. Hospitality (dining/sit in etc. hospitality and travel taking a beating this time, not many others.

Last time VAT dropped to 25% you had to act quick - all the marques jacked their prices up to fill the gap within 6 months of implementation.

That APR is insane considering where interest rates sit atm. No way I would pay that insulting rate to Audi finance.

You won’t get much change out of £50k for an S3 that is for sure ... but hey you’ll have those Lambo vents ... lol :tearsofjoy:

Merc layout/interior for me. The new A3 has grown on me but interior and rear bumper do not look good at all.

Your the only person l have ever heard saying this...barring myself when l use to own a S3 Sport back, having owned both....externally they are totally different and dont share one body panel...the saloon drives better, same cannot be said of the new A3 Sport back/Saloon they share a few panels, bonnet, front bumper, front wings, front doors....rear tail lights
S3 Saloon has always been around £2k more expensive than the S3 Sport back and that's not just down to marketing

Agreed, prefer the saloon, looks miles better than the van like sportback

Audi have dropped the APR across all of the new cars it seems, with the exception of RS cars. The new A3 @ 4.8%.

Sleek............lol that's normally associated with something that's unobtrusive and blends in with the overall design
Have you applied some glue to yer climate controls yet? as l have seen and heard they're a a tad mobile in operation....

Loving yer positive attitude and the travel industry aint that important nor the hospitality trade......the more people affected financially the more help is required.....this aint localised to the UK... consumer confidence is essential.....

Both industries are huge and laying off 1000’s of people including high earners such as pilots.

The public are far more cautious, it will 100% impact the car industry, that’s just obvious.

Yes mate - has Audi’s for 12 years but the new Merc swayed me & loving the 45s. It’s a very exciting car. I enjoyed 4 fun years with my RS3 and this is definitely giving me the same enjoyment & it feels special on every drive.

That said, the RSQ3 is a superb car and will beat the Merc for soundtrack. My last RS3 did make a wonderful noise so that could draw me back for another 5 cylinder.

I think you’d love either car pal :icon thumright:

Please keep us informed how you get on. I must admit I love the look of the RSQ3 Sportback externally, but not a massive fan of interior. Somewhat more jacked up than the A45s which is one heck of a missile

I saw a RSQ3 close up in Kyalamai Green a few weeks ago...horrid looking thing,at launch l thought it was different looking and attractive but seeing it with my own eyes, it's vulgar looking and thought why the **** would someone want a RS car of this type buy the faster Saloon or sportback or even wait for the new RS3 and most of all it aint that fast

All choice mate, and that video is nonsense as putting a G wagon that is £120k or whatever is ridiculous, but yes we all know the M340i is fast, and not even a proper M. I personally prefer the jacked up (SUV’s) that many dont, hence why I have M40i X3 and not a 3 series or a A3 saloon or whatever.

Plus it is plenty fast enough let’s be honest.

But half the enjoyment is the soundtrack with the 5 cylinder engine ... it’s glorious !

I think to say it’s vulgar is not warranted at all otherwise you could generalise many cars of that type in that way.

I think it’s pretty cool of Audi to offer a 5 cylinder engine in that package for those that want that type of car but some fun factor performance & sound too.

Exactly, i went from an s3 sportback to the new Range Rover evoque, whilst i love the luxury of my current car, i do miss the performance, but I’m not sure i want low slung car anymore as i quite enjoy being that bit higher up, and i dont need or want a big suv - and i think the rsq3 sport back ticks those boxes.. for me anyway..

That is where I am at, and as we live on a pot holed gravel private track/lane, anything low slung is not a great idea.

I can definitely see myself in a RSQ3
