I used to love my local. It was a great place, i made good friends, a place where i felt safe and great memories.

It died when the no smoking ban came in. Various peaple tried to keep it going and after time, it eventually became a house for a large family. The Gardeners Arms was no more.

Now as the pubs are opening again tomorrow it sorta makes me wonder, especially with whats going on around us, how safe is this?, as we are being told so much by so many experts about the situ we are currently in and none seem to have the info to actually back it up.
Chatted with a girl down in Chesterfield today and she was in awe that she could go out and have a beer with her mates again, and how it was the best thing ever. I didn't really agree 100% as i thought staying safe and healthy was prob a better idea then a 1 night bender. maybe im getting old ;)

I guess the whole point to this thread was revolving around a comment by BoJo in respect to the current problem;

Boris Johnson told this evening's Downing Street press conference that the public must "enjoy summer safely" as the economy “is dependent on every single one of us acting responsibly”.

i see one thing in that, and its not about us surviving a potentially as a race, but the 'economy' being more important.

anyways, sod it.

200 miles to run in fun times!!!!

oh i know, it's just i saw that 'news report' a hour or so back and just thought whats a load of bolloxs. surely they cant think we are all as daft as sheep and are going to just simply conform to their guesswork, i mean, the goverment have proven they dont know jack **** [or maybe they do n its all a bigger plan :0 ] and we are all just taxbags for em.

a little honesty would go a lot further than blatant lies IMHO.

:) im in a apparent hotspot , Oldham, and to be honest, not a zero **** seems to be given atm as everyones going about as normal. do i stand and moan? should i stand up and try to enforce a 2m rule? sod that, peeps have been knocked the f out in Tesco for complaining bout it!

what i do know is as much as we are unsure [generally] its defo killing peeps and ruining lives, a mate of mine in an opposite unit has lost his mum, dad, uncle and sister. he is from the 'BAME' community, which only makes me think worse of the entire situ.

Ya know that! a very good friend of mine from the same community has been hit just as hard with three members of her family now gone RIP in such a short time! It is still killing people daily a smaller amount, but most places I have seen the majority of peeps just doing their thing so I know exactly what you mean, let us just be cautious and see how it all pans out I do my own research don't really bother with tv news etc it's just having some COMMON sense to do what you feel is right for you as an individual.

yup +1 to that, the wife is in the NHS and had the test 6 weeks after 3 team members went down with it, she had a banging cought, spluttering and wheeze. 1 of her team mates was positive, the other 2 not. the wife sat side by side to her friends and tested clear......?
I nearly died last year thro other things, but came back and got on with life like ya do, not a day off sick nor bullsh1t excuses, yet i went ill again just after xmas as did my work partner who also doesn't skive off....odd.

dont get me goin bout the BBC LOL :D

only really the last 6 months or so, but never seen so much lies on any news platform. they should, be ashamed.

Outside in the garden with 2m spacing should be ok. Indoors with random people for hours on end, not for me.

Worse thing is as soon as they do open watch how many people will run..just look at the queues for primary as an example. Donuts were dying for 3 pound leggings

i'm a believer in equal for all no matter, obviously within limits, and i simply cant fathom why the BLM peaceful protests were conducted by the peaple who thought it was the right time to do so under the whole corona situ.....BAME have told the goverment they want an inquest into why its hitting them so hard yet still go out shoulder to shoulder and protest. right reasons, wrong action currently for our global issue.. i have always thought the US police [some] have been waaaaay outta line and the more thats shown, the more i think they are for better parts, a law unto themselves.

if i was a conspiracy theorist, i would say this is all to wipe out a % of peaple on the earth, as we are heading down that route at some point, but it shows how we are nothing, irrespective of birth or locality to the powers that be.

sad thing is, my brother n i worked out during the KFC chicken crisis that off KFC's figures they were using 3million chickens [ UK only ] a week. thats a week! not including all the other big name fast food places, and certainly not all the little take aways that are always busy.

where the hell do we make all the chickens!!

we are the disease on the planet, and as usual, nature is taking steps. maybe with a little human help.
