Dab radio/cd slot

Hi all, not sure if I’m writing in the right place ... the cd/dvd slot on my A4 Avant tdi se 2013 isn’t working - been told it’s a main dealer job because it’s code protected. But everything else works so I can use sd cards and the Audi leads. So I’ll live with it.
Do you know if an external dab receiver would work with this model? I’d like to have 6music!

As it sounds like your car has a non DAB radio/CD/SD player fitted from factory, you could buy the DAB version used via ebay, also need to buy a DAB aerial amp and extra aerial lead, then swop them over and then get component protection removed at a proper VW Group Indie specialist - I did that to my 2011 S4.

Do you have a rough ballpark amount of the cost? Do try they charge much for removing CP? My local Audi garage will charge £60-£150 to look at it and tell me CD player’s not working or there’s something stuck in it - maybe cheaper to get the CP off?

Yeah - just haven’t the data on my phone - unless I download and listen offline - not live?

Would a Dab receiver not work connected to the MMI?
