Hi,
I got 2 rear tyre's changed in May of this year, at a well know garage chain. I was hoovering out the car today and noticed a big hump behind the drivers seat, which I thought was the carpet coming off. When I pressed it, it was solid, so I looked under the car and found that the floor pan and part of the outrigger squashed in and the fuel securing clip broken.
When I took the car to this garage, I told the fitter that the car must not be jacked up along the seal area, but on the rear beam. I now understand why he told me that the fuel filter was hanging off, because he had jacked it up in this area and damaged the floor. I am taking my car to the body shop on Friday, but not sure if they can repair it. Once I have the estimate, I will then confront the garage. Has anyone else had an issue like this/ If not check the under side after tyre's are changed.

Hi @Pius I think this is quite a common scenario I have had something similar to yours but not as bad! also @Asim1 has told me he has some under damage caused by idiots who don't know the proper location to jack up these cars pursue this with the garage in question who was it? Not bl**dy kwik fit... Should not be a problem to repair if you use a skilled technician.

Funny thing is me and @MPH were talking about this literally last night. My area that was affected was the front passenger side. Never obviously bothered me as I never knew. But after being under the car the other day noticed it properly. I've had a word with an s3 breaker that I know and he will sell me a shell for a reasonable price I'm thinking to cut out said area and get a new one welded in

Its nothing to worry about really, but very annoying. I would hammer it out, wire brush, degrease and give it a coat of upol raptor. Just make sure any exposed areas are covered with the raptor Nice easy driveway job. Just done mine but got a bit carried away did a full underside build

I will need to get mine in the air properly so I can check. I'm hoping it can just be hammered out

Either way I'm gonna go down and probably grab the shell for the windshield that's in it aswell as I need to replace mine

Hi Asim 1, do you have the details of the S3 breaker please?

Not Kwik fit, Halfords. the thing is, I actually told them where to jack it up and they did not listen, even broke the cable tie for the fuel filter, so will have to check that it is not damaged.

Then you have a good case get some good pictures of the damage in and out get a quote for repairs receipt etc for your purchase at Halfrauds and contact the head office if you have not done so ASAP.

Thanks MPH, I have contacted Black circles as the tyre's were purchased from them and Halfords were their contractor.

Hi guys, Got all my damage repaired, even the front damage on the rails, that had been done before, through my insurance company and one of their body shops and passed the bill to Halfords.
