To those that retrofitted folding mirrors, does the power folding mirror unit matter if it was from sportback/hatch or a saloon? Looking to get a pre-owned one from ebay and not sure if they matter or not.
My car already has everything else fitted just need passenger side power folding unit And possibly vcds to code it.

Any help is appreciated

Hey thanks for the answer.

from my understanding there is no variants right? As long as i get the folding unit from a sportback it should be ok?

Hello, i put my question here, I think it's the same retrofit, I have recently received one A3 8V sportback for retrofit the folding mirrors, the parts have been buy by the owner
After retrofit the folding mirrors work perfectly but I have 3errors in the car ( not present before retrofit)
1 electronic parking brake malfunctions
2 driver door malfunction
3 rears doors don't find in autoscan but find iff I go directly in this module
It's impossible to find that problem

I'm confused

Are you saying any folding mirror from an 8v will work ie hatchback on a saloon?

Or does it have to be a saloon folding mirror onto a saloon and so on

I seem to have the correct modules that should work it looks like I just need the mirrors and switch/panel

Cheers

For make it work from hatch back to salon you need to do parametrisation
