Warranty Wise worth it?

Hey
I bought a high mileage ex lease TDI A3 FL on 117,000 2014 and it came with 3 months Silver protection.
They have offered to continue it for a year at £30.00 per month.

Has anyone had any dealings with them, is it worth getting?

They seem very hit and miss thats for sure.
Great for some, others are disgusted.

Yeah it seems if a little part worth 10.00 fails due to wear and tear they will refuse to deal with the whole claim.
So if your clutch or gearbox goes and its due to a single bolt or pulley, they will refuse to deal with anything, even if you pay for that part yourself.
So really what are you covered for? Seems strange.
People have success with the turbo claims as its just 1 unit, but seems anything else its very hit and miss.

Why not put £30 per month into a savings account and if something goes, put it towards the repair? If nothing goes, your pot gets bigger. Just an idea

Good idea in theory, but look through this forum, didn't someone get hit with an £8,000 bill for a new engine weeks after his warranty ran out?

I'd be inclined to take more of a chance with a manual car vs s-tronic.

True but even if a small little plastic or rubber bit failed due to age they will refuse to deal with the whole engine.
So a little rubber washer that cost 1.00 goes they will refuse to deal with the whole entire engine claim.
They have even confirmed this is true on trustpilot as they replied to peoples complaints.

Lets say your cambelt goes and destroys the engine, even if you just got a new one a few days prior they will refuse to deal with it as they dont deal with
pulleys, bands or belts as its a rubber piece, again confirmed by them.

It just seems if your turbo just blows out of no where they will deal with it, but if its down to wear and tear, like a rubber piece that is not serviceable in the first place, again they will refuse to deal with it.

I looked at their terms and its 3 pages long LOL

I think I will try my luck as I dont have any trust in them looking at their replies on trustpilot.

It would be careful with that approach as £360 a year wont go far.

I bought a new S3 and had problems with DAB radio. Audi dealer had to get their glass fitter to swap out the whole rear window as that's where the aerial is. That job alone cost a crazy £820. Was out of manufacturer warranty but still had an extended Audi warranty. However, it was done under warranty.
