Edit..... 6th Nov 2019 ....... Update - just left factory - 17 days in QC - I am expecting to receive a car that has been pulled apart 3-4 times, cobbled together and and patched up.

Audi... If you check this forum........ There is no 'end of QC' flag/code option in the order tracker. The next flag is when it leaves the factory gates.

I suspect my car was only in QC for a few days - and then sat in the factory stock-yard for several days awaiting transport to the docks. It would be a great improvement in the tracker to see the 'end of QC' ....or better...... 'successful completion of QC' ....so that people aren't worried that a lot of problems have been found on their car at QC stage and all the repairs are taking 5 times longer than the build did. - cheers

Bought my car, (lease got arranged on 20th), this is as much information the public api shows for dates along the manufacturing process.

It's changed to status 38 roughly 2 days ago, but it hasn't got a status date written by it, does this mean it's not in status 38?

Also anyone ordered with Vertu Leasing? Know which port they get their cars shipped to?

"orderStatus": "38",
"orderHistory":
"orderStatus": "30",
"statusDate": "2019-11-21T01:03:13+0000"

Disappointment.. Seems the recent storms have created a massive backlog at the ports. Cars due for, and which should be here now for an early March delivery, are now possibly going to be shipped over mid to late March. Approximatley..
Following the shipping from Emden, ive not noticed a delay, ships are, and have been sailing, and at the same rate, so i presume, its either our ports are full, or a lack of preparation by VAG, so the wait, the crossing off calendar days has been extended. The backlog means, there will be no shipping order, no first in first out, trains from the factorys will unload, straight onto any waiting ships probably, once any free space has been filled.

I suppose theres worse things in life to be gutted about, hundreds of peoples homes flooded, lifes lost. the wait goes on. Have a good week everyone.

Guys, where do you all get the additional information, such as status codes etc? I get very basic information on mine

I’ve also just had it confirmed from Audi that my car has been in the port at Germany since 21st May

So basically you logon to https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area.html then once logged in add your own order number provided by dealer, then copy paste the link below into a new browser tab, but at the end of the link below as your order number without brackets;

https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/v1/orders/(ordernumberhere)

This will display information about your order, you can get JSONView on Chrome Store which puts it all into a more readable format.

You must be logged onto Owners Area with your order number added to you account to get this working.

I've been tracking my RSQ3 since order in December, my car entered the UK just after lockdown and has been status 40 ever since, now waiting patiently for it to move to code 60 or 70.

These are the codes;

00 - Welcome
10 - Order Received
20 - Preparation
21 - Panel Shop
22 - Paint Shop
23 - Assembly
24 - Quality Control
30 - Your Audi has left Ingolstadt
38 - At Emden
39 - On the boat
40 - Ready for Transport to the dealer
60 - Left UK Port on the way to the dealer
70 - Arrived at dealer - Call to make your collection plans

I get this:

  • orderNumber: "3018xxxx",
  • orderStatus: "38",
  • deliveryDealerCode: "00443",
  • orderHistory:

    [

    • {
      • orderStatus: "30",
      • statusDate: "2020-06-06T01:27:53+0100"
The at the bottom:

  • buildWeek: "202012",
  • firstDayOfBuildWeek: "2020-03-16T00:00:00+0000",
  • orderSaleDate: "2020-05-21T00:00:00+0100"

Am I right in saying that it moved to status 30 on the 6th June? I cannot see what date it moved to 38 - although Audi on Twitter told me its been in port since 21st May, so if its been at port since the 21st May why did it only go to 30 in June? You can also see the order sale date was the 21st May - coincidence?

Its all so confusing

Yes although the dates can sometimes be slightly out.

So as it stands your car is at Emden, if you look on www.marinetraffic.com you can monitor shipping, I am sure my car is at Sheerness which came from Emden via Mallaca Highway, which that boat has been there since March and hasnt moved.

How do I know what port it will be going to?

Emden is VW/Audi's main port out of Germany for cars to UK.

Port of entry depends on what you live for south is usually Sheerness, north is Grimsby and Tyne.

Just edited my post as I forgot to put ports of entry to UK.

Your Audi center should be able to give you information on port of entry.

Once I find it out, how do I know if any ships are due to depart for that dock in the forseeable? or is it just whats the there at the moment?

Edit: found out it is going to Grimsby, Audi over on Twitter confirmed it

Additional Edit: I can see a ship called Neckar Highway that is due to arrive at Grimsby tonight, which left Emden yesterday - wonder if its on that :)

Check the status when it goes 40 it means it's arrived, my car went status 40 in mid-March but hasn't changed since, I think there is quite a backlog to get through at the ports.

I am hoping I’m not waiting 3 months. They told me it should be here for my to collect by the end of June

Status 38 is at port of exit which should be Emden, my car arrived at Emden beginning of March and sat for 2 weeks or so before it came across to UK.

Thankfully my car is now ready for collection from my dealer, cars are definitely on the move between Emden and Grimsby, one thing I noticed with mine was when it went status 40, it did stay like this for a while due to the Covid situation. But I expected it to go from 40 to 60 but it went straight to 70 so they are getting through the backlog now pretty quick.

I have had the most random conversation history with Audi on Twitter. Last week they were telling me there were delays due to Covid-19 (fair enough) and they couldn’t give me a timescale on delivery to the UK.

my order status says it went to 30 on the 6th a June so I contacted them to see when it went to 38 and they replied with this:

Hello, Lee. We can confirm that your vehicle reached status code 38 on the 26th of last month. As this is now beyond the allocated time frame, we would recommend liaising with your local Audi Centre for further updates. Please let us know if you'd like us to arrange contact for you.

I then asked me it went to 30 after (according to them) it went to 38 and they replied saying:

We can appreciate this and can only suggest there may have been a delay on your tracker as systems update and refresh on different dates. Once you have spoken to your Audi Centre they can confirm this for you.

thing is I don’t want to bother them and whenever I have contacted them previously they make me feel like I am bothering them.

When I looked at my status codes on my order it is pretty sporadic on dates so I would take the dates as a pinch of salt. Audi told me once the cars leave Germany and arrive in UK port that the dealers can only advise the timeline. As I say in my case the order for my car went status 38 beginning of March then went status 40 just after lock down and remained at status 40 until 12th June when it jumped to status 70 (at dealer) on that day. Whilst the tracker is nice it is very buggy on the dates.

My dealer has informed me that they've only had two transporter deliveries since the restrictions were lifted, unfortunately with Covid-19 situation I think logistics may still be operating with less staff as are dealers. Companies are milking the Furlough for as long as possible!

I can assume that my car has arrived at port I can't understand when it flipped to 38 but assuming some time after the 13th.

Anyone know how long cars have taken in July from the port of Emden to getting on to the ship to UK as an approximation?

Yes status 38 means you're at Emden currently awaiting a ship but there is never a date attached to this status. The 38 disappears when you hit status 39 ie on a ship to the UK.
I currently have a new Q3 on order and it was waiting at Emden for 12 days before getting on a ship to Grimsby. It was at Grimbsy for a further 7 days prior to changing to status 60 this morning.
Audi customer services told me that there was a big backlog due to covid. They said you ccan wait up to 14 days at Emden for a ship although that may well be longer in view of the current climate.
There are quite a few boats coming over to the three UK ports that VAG use now so hopefully you won't have too long a wait.
My timeline for reference:

My new A3 arrived at Emden on May 11th. Was at 38 for weeks with no movement at all so cancelled three weeks ago and went with another dealer who had one in the UK. Got my new one 2 weeks ago.

Oh wow that is a long time but I suppose that the backlash of covid19 and backlog at the port. I got my car on contract hire from the dealer I suppose whilst I am waiting I am not paying for any car as I am 100% home working which makes it an advantage. Haha that isn't to say I am not impatient as I am.

I don't suppose anyone knows what the update frequency is on the order data? E.g. is it usually a daily update at 1am? obviously If no movement then no update but wasn't sure if the update is real time or done as a batch update on their systems?

The tracker seems odd at the moment, my car was being unbuilt at one point! There also seems to be a delay of a few days as my dealer said my car was in the uk when the tracker was oscillating between 30 and 38.

Tracker ran a few days behind actual events, the twitter team using social media and therefore direct messaging knew when car was on boat, when it left port and arrived. They were quite quick and informative.

just fyi

Hey everyone,

Screenshot below of that the JSON is showing. Apparently it is currently waiting to be shipped and at the port? Anyway to tell how long its been there? The build week wasn't meant to start to tomorrow (24th) so must have been built early?

The tracking site has been down for weeks, is there any other way to track the build at the moment?

Trying myself for months. My car is meant to have been built last week. Aside from contacting the supplying dealer sorting this PCH, there is no way

I emailed Audi Customer Services about the site being down for something else and was advised there is no ETA at present - If you're trying to track a car contact your dealer - brilliant

Just purchased my car and i've got my order number, I can't see anywhere in the owners area to track the order? How do I track it?
