What do these numbers mean? Seen a lot of new Audi’s with these numbers on rear badges, can’t be any A3 models with a 4litre engine :wtf:

You’re right Max, utter bunkum. Lots of de-badging to come on the forum soon.

It's stupid as beep beep but off the top of my head 30 means 1.6 engines, 40 are 2.0L and 50 are the 3.0L. There are also differences between petrol and diesel.

30 = 109-128 hp (81-96 kW)
35 = 147-160 hp (110-120 kW)
40 = 167-201 hp (125-150 kW)
45 = 226-248 hp (169-185 kW)
50 = 281-308 hp (210-230 kW)
55 = 328-368 hp (245-275 kW)
60 = 429-455 hp (320-340 kW)
70 = 536+ hp (400+ kW)

Yet we all have one so can't be that bad.

Badges are first thing to go on all my cars anyway unless it's a sporty model which tends to be all I get now :happy:

Actually I’m hoping to move away from Audi when our A3 dies (it refuses to). We’d likely go for family SUV and the Q5 would be a no brainer but sadly Audi has well and truly lost the plot with new models. Fugly inside and outside. It will hopefully be a Merc GLC, BMW 3 series or even a Mazda CX-5/30, but not Audi.

I'm already two cars on from Audi ownership haha often question the point in being here anymore but it's a half decent forum and highly anticipate having another Audi soon.

Only thing I don’t like about German cars is the interiors on latest models, they’re al beginning to look the same, black, chrome and piano black. You can’t keep piano black fingerprint and dust free and the iPad on top of the dash idea looks like a diy screw on job. The simple dash layout which Audi VW Skoda and Volvo had a few years ago was more pleasing to the eye.

Btw the system it so crap that a 3.0-litre A6 BiTDI produces 320hp – not enough to earn a ’55’ badge, but too much for a ’50’.
