So after 5 months I have sold my RS3. While it was a great car it just never hit the spot for me. It was very quick, handled well and could pretty much leave anything on a B road but by being this good it just didn’t excite me like a high powered rear drive car. I have actually gone back to AMG (C63 coupe) pre GPF, I actually managed to get the car I originally sold which now thinking about I should have kept. If anyone wants a very well spec’d Nardo RS3 then check out Prestiege performance Yorkshire.

Will still stay around on here as the merc forum is very quiet.

Also if anyone wants a CETE controller let me know as I now have one for sale.

I am sure you will love it plus it will be the new model so I am sure will be an awesome car. I just personally prefer my AMG, I have had all sorts inc M3, M4 comps etc however the AMG is just perfect for me.

Funny as I had a TT TDI Quattro which I loved.

I’ve done this a few times, changed cars after 6-7 months! I’ve bought 4 cars from Matthew and Graham at prestige performance near York. Fantastic chaps. Latest one being my RS3, I’ll keep an eye out for yours on their website. Hope you enjoy the AMG again, my Dad has a GLE43, although it’s not the 63 it’s still absolutely savage and I love the sound of that particular engine.

Wow, that’s a quick change mate, although I’ve been known to be worse years ago (2 weeks the quickest!), however not sure I’d want the hit on the depreciation on a c£50k motor in that short time!

Once a petrol head always a petrol head and on every car I buy I’m always looking at ‘what next’ but sounds like the draw of that big AMG engine was something you missed and probably not helped with the OPF and the muted exhaust, think you were considering a re-map which had you gone down that route I think you would have unleashed the potential and especially more sound and theatrics to give the little OPF RS3 that extra bit of character.

Good luck with the AMG, certainly a beast and enjoy many happy miles of motoring :icon thumright:

They are great and would happily buy another car from them, really good guys. It should be on their site next week, will be a great buy for someone. I am terrible at changing cars, drives my wife mad

All the AMGs are great, taken it out this morning and just realised how much I missed it.

@Riko0073 it was a quick change but something I had to do as I just wasn’t happy. I did think of remapping but didn’t think I should have to do this on a new car and also just didn’t want the issues with warranty etc. Plus I had a sneaky suspicion I would be getting something else :)

I’ve done it on a few occasions aswell like an idiot!! But when you’re a petrol head it just cannot he helped I swear!! Had many an argument with my wife and parents over it haha! I’d hate to sit down and actually work out how much money I’ve lost on them over the years! This one is my seventh in 4 years haha.

AMG cars are like the full package if you ask me! Amazing from top to bottom!

Ha ha I would hate to do it as well, bet I have lost ££££ the best one was 6 weeks with a Golf Mk3 VR6.. Absolutely hated that car, it was a proper dog of one as well.

One of the best was my 911 C2S PDK managed to get 14k off at new and ran it for 2 years. Swapped it for a C250 CDI sport plus, that lasted 10 weeks. Traded it for a brand new E350 CDI coupe which I loved. Then got an M4 comp which was shockingly bad to the point I rejected it.. Some times I look back and just want to slap myself :)

We all need to slap ourselves
Whats wrong with a £200 corsa
it will get us there eventually, but no, we have to have the best,
Had a RS1600 i great investment £8k to keep sold it for a grand more than i paid for it a 1 year later ,the guy who bought it sold it on ten months later for £25k
Slap for me
Focus RSmk2 Bought for £30k in 2010
sold that for £21k 2 years later 6000 miles
Saw it for sale few months ago for sale again £28k 20000 miles
Another slap

Yeah but it’s a labour of love isn’t it and when we’re changing cars we never think of what we’re going to lose or what we’ve lost, we’ll i don’t haha! Bit of an idiot for it but it’s a passion!

I’ve had some dogs in my time too, good cars on paper but finished off on a Friday evening car, if you know what I mean.

I’ve had a shocker! Kept it for 7 months, 7 months too long at that aswell!

did you manage to get the early 1 with the head issue

Never liked them over the mk2 focus RS hence i went for a mint mk5 rs2000
as per my avatar pic

Never had an RS Ford, lots of friends had RS turbos, focus RS etc. I had an XR2 which I loved, was such a good car.

always fancied a proper Sapphire RS Cosworth :)

Yeah I had a 16 plate and it had all the head work done but still ran rough as. Never really like it at all. Always wanted the mk2 but 3 door cars aren’t really convenient for me!

I wanted a C63 saloon, had put an offer in at a dealer for one that they rejected, 3 months later they’d dropped the price to under what I’d offered.

I was away in Madrid for work and had said to myself I’ll call them when I’m back and pay their now sticker price, and the ****** thing sold the day before I got home :p

So I bought the RS3 instead as couldn’t find another C63 I wanted.

My folks had the older 6.3 C63 and it was a brute, absolutely loved it, felt such a special thing to drive, more so over the RS3.

If ever I needed to downsize in value I’d have one of those!

Sorted on 17 plate cars though afaik. Didn't Ford use the head gasket from the wrong car in the early mk3's?!

Head gasket from the 2.3 ecoboost in the mustang which just allowed coolant into the cylinders i believe. What a **** up!

Never really sorted it if you ask me, such a shame really as they’re a lovely looking car. Was just an absolute pig and crap from top to bottom.

Crappy open deck cylinder block design didn’t help matters either

The facelift C63 noise is easily improved with a catted downpipe, then you get all the pops and bangs, burbles, they are all there. But the other facelift improvements are vast and well worth the money.
