Evening all!

I've recently bought a 64 plate A6 Black edition and in true fashion it didn't have the SD card.
This is my first Audi so I'm new to the whole Audi nav set up, MMI ect.
When I go into the nav screen it is connecting to satellites but obviously has no mapping. Could this be as easy as downloading the mapping from the myaudi site onto an SD card to get it all working?
I assume that by connecting to satellites that the nav is ready to go and doesn't need activating, just the other crucial piece that is the maps?

Cheers.

The only option is to go to an Audi dealer and get them to supply and activate a new SD Card, needs a link to the factory to activate for your car. Would be worth going back to the supplying dealer (or individual if a Private sale) and asking where the SD Card is. At least if you get a new card it will have the most recent version of the maps not the version that came with the car

Thanks for the reply!

The car was only listed as 'nav ready' so I've not really got a come back with the dealer, I did get a price from a local audi garage yesterday for £220 so it looks like that'll be the way to go!
Like you said, at least it'll all be up to date and good to go.

IMO it's not worth the money for the Audi maps. Mine came with the sd card but an old version of the maps, with that said the out of date maps are not why I don't use it, Waze on my phone is far better with route calculations and avoiding traffic.

Be better off getting a decent phone holder and using the phone, then still have £200 left over for something else!

That's a fair point, I've always used Google/waze maps in my previous car and never had a drama, so as you've said I'll probably stick with them and buy myself a detailing kit instead haha

take a test drive and nip home and copy the SD card to your laptop.. then head on back to the garage and hey presto you have a copy

Not sure it works like this. There is encryption on the sd card which needs to be paired to the car. I have looked long and far for ways around it and there is nothing.
