So, lock down = a lot of YouTube time. Came across this video out of Iroz workshop. Some good shots and chat of the inner workings of the DAZA. Same YouTube channel had a focus on the iroz 1200whp rs3 if anyone feels the need for power envy...

The engine block lifting of cast iron vs Ali made me laugh.

Yeah, me too. Its rare to see the blocks stripped down like that. Interesting, if not surprising to hear how much shared with the lambo v10.

It is super interesting that the block is basically half a Hurracan block, down to parts. Even the exhaust marries up

Port AND direct injection too!

Does anyone know anyone in the UK sleeving the block like they are? The strength of the aluminium seems to be the weakness.

I tell you what, if that level of tuning is available over here ... i'm so thankful to have a DAZA engine. I'd go big turbo in a second.

Hanks cars run on Syvecs, which is UK based, so no issue going that route. And use Unitronic TCU. I'd expect someone like MRC would be move than happy to live map it too. The IMS850HS has a Unitronic map. Plus you've got options between the IMS kits or RPC for 'Big Turbo'...

So no excuses - awaiting your build thread :D

Might not be a particular tuneful sound but my word does it sound brutal!

Amazing what they're doing with these new engines over at IROZ. As mentioned above plenty of UK involvement with Syvecs and Race Developments too.
Does anyone know all the technical details of the changes from the older CZGB engines to the new DAZA engines? Part of me is regretting going for a PFL!

I think DAZA has an aluminium block, a re-designed crank (lighter), different oil pan (magnesium)

Block / different cams / variable valve lift on exhaust cam / bigger capacity turbo/ 5 extra port injectors / crank is hollow to reduce mass/weight

Ali block is plasma lined.

Lightweight materials used in construction of the engine such as Ali viscous damper, oil pan made of magnesium and Ali screws.

Finally watched that first video. Love the fact they say it’s a hand me down from a Lambo! I wish Iroz was over here. They’d be having my car to work on.

Thanks for that :icon thumright:

More extensive than I first thought! Is the Bore and Stroke the same? The extra injectors and bigger turbo must be main reason these are seeing such big gains on Stage 1? Cams aside, the rest of the changes are predominately to reduce overall mass of the engine it seems.

I'd love to build an engine on the side and keep my original one in the event it went bang, one day maybe!

Don't forget the spare gearbox and clutches and a crate of spare tailshafts and flywheels.
