Next Gen 2021 Audi A3 Sedan Debut

What are they doing with the interiors? Looks just like the new Golf or new Leon inside, certainly a step down from the current model.

I absolutely love it. Audi’s media page say it will be in dealerships from Summer this year. Going to look the part in S3 trim.

Only interested in the model that matters most to myself S3 Saloon

Interesting interior design. Definitely a new design. Not sure if I like it but will see if it will grow on me...

Looks better than the hatch. I'd still rather get a 2017 RS3 saloon for less than the price of a decent spec 2021 A3 saloon :/

Seems to me just a scaled down A4 which is no bad thing but think Audi were a bit lazy with the exterior.

Doesn’t look too bad but I’m still not blown away, I was hoping for some info on the A3 fast back / Coupe not heard anything about it for a few months now I wonder if that’s been scrapped or just delayed?

Profile looks very nice indeed. A bit busy at the front, don't like the large silver bits at the front and the lights are too fussy.

Those vents are so in the way and dominate what otherwise looks like a very modern design.

Personally, I would prefer analogue dials.

Its the air vents in the front bumper that crack me up.

Hopefully the black edition will black them out, they are just so ridiculous.

Its like something out of the original Thunderbirds/Stingray

I think the problem I have with this car is that it is too busy and has far too much going on - at the front end and inside.
Audi are usually known for simplistic style that is very classy looking - this is full of angular designs and has lost some of that elegance.
I like the rear end on the saloon and the lights are cool though.
As others have noted, the S3 and RS3 will hopefully have their own unique styling tweaks and should look a lot better.

Lazy with the exterior design av gotta slightly agree with you on this point and it also looks more like the current A4 .l dont like the current A4....very bland looking to my eyes...
Gone has the deep sculpted belt lines which set the saloon apart from the hatches and a design point which l really like also it shares the exact same tail light design of the hatchback these are just my first impressions
Again Audi presents a sport variant with 19" and a S-line interior.....in a grey colour not my bag to be honest

I prefer the pre-facelift 8V saloon with its less angular look. Bit more elegant imo.

Not really, but Audi will, like any other manufacturer, retain a corporate looks but compared to the current fl A4 the new A3 saloon has far stronger lines, which they got rid of with the 2020 version.
Good to see they've not messed with the good looking exterior but that interior is far too fussy and plasticky...

Yup, the S3 fastback/liftback is the only one that I am looking forward to. The new A3 is a nice looking car, but imho, it has become more A4 like (i.e. more rounded and smooth side body and boot lines. The overall profile and size is great though.

"Corporate look" it's becoming more like "Attack of the Clones" forgive the Star wars analogy but up until a few years ago....you could tell what Audi was what.....just by the headlight drl design .....now they are all mostly identical...every dashboard design now is the same....if l am paying "X amount extra" over and above the Average Joe l want that "X amount" Superficially to look at least slightly different....but that's near impossible now....The current A3 saloon is a better looking car in my opinion.

A3 fastback or whatever you want to name it aint going to happen.....as there is no requirement for it, too niche a model as Audi has learned from the TT...ergo

First impressions....To me it's identical to the new sportback with a boot replacing the hatch.....which was not the case with the older version, as all body panels between the saloon and hatches were 100% different....for example...look at a RS3 Sportback, Audi had to slightly widen the front wheel arches....to accommodate a wider track and 255 tyres,in the saloon they didnt have to do this as it's initial body design was wider that's the reason why the saloon is a better handling car.....Again a basic A3 Saloon starts from a £1000 more than a basic A3 Sportback......hopefully my first impressions will be subsided when more exact info comes out...rather than from YouTubers

For most on this forum, they will always be keen to see the S/RS cars as they are the eye candy! I think this car has the base to be really nice, and predict the S/RS variants will be beautiful. Appreciate the interior has been a Marmite thing for a lot of people, but again I sit in the like camp. Look forward to seeing the performance cars when they are released.

Can’t wait to see the RS3 saloon

Quick question, does anyone happen to know the model designation for the new A3 sport back and saloon ?

Looks quite bland from some angles, but not too bad from other angles. Hopefully the S3 & RS3 will look a lot better?

It also looks like Audi have got their mojo back with the Alloys on the RS5 & Q3-RS Vosprung edition, and decided to copy the design on the A3. So we can now expect that alloy design to be on everything from an A1 to an RS6. Similar to the old Rota's.

Interior still the biggest issue for me. Not a fan at all.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they have made the S3 and RS3 "stand out" and appear "special" over and above a standard S-Line trim A3, they failed to do this with the 8V S3.

I would only be a potential S3 buyer if they have managed to do this, in my opinion an S3 has to immediately stand out as an S3. It should not only be obvious to a car enthusiast, however much I loved my S3 saloon this always annoyed me about it.

Interesting. I think that Audi prefer an understated look for their S3 and perhaps many buyers do too. Nothing better than a wolf in sheen's clothing.

True. And to be fair to Audi I think the S3 looks better than say the A35 AMG without the aero pack, which looks as dull as dishwater. Yet it looks far classier than the A35 AMG with Aero pack. Which on the Hatch at least, look rather too boy racer and trying to hard.

But Audi do need to make the S3 & RS3 stand out just a little more. More so the RS3, which for none car people just looks like any other A3. Yet even the most uninterested car person would spot an RS6 from any other A6.

Not to sure if the S3 will stand out anymore than what the 8V did unless there is a pack that Audi will launch just like MB did with the A35. Definitely think the RS3 will get the full RS treatment just like the RS4/6.

Thats were we would disagree, I had an A35 with the Aero pack and it was yellow and I thought it looked fantastic, and it certainly drew a lot of admiring looks and compliments. The S3 Saloon never turned a head in the 3 years I owned it.

Maybe I'm just still 21 in my head and want attention drawing cars.

They really need to do something, with current pricing the new S3 is going to be an expensive car. I for one wouldn't be paying for it unless it looks like what it is, rather than a far lesser model with an S-line bodykit fitted.

Very true. Pricing of the 150bhp ones out now is a joke at up to £40k.

That’s mental I’d rather get a Facelift RS3!
100% true. The price of new cars just seem to keep increasing, pushing everyone down the PCP route as the only way to afford them.

Well, if predictions are correct and we fall into a world wide recession, maybe car prices will reduce to realistic levels? Or just massive discounts.
