Hi guys,
is it possible to get the windows to close when locking the car with the remote?
I have just purchased VCDS, not that I have figured out how to program (code) things with it yet.
Regards.

OK. So is it a base model car without that module fitted, or an S3 with that module fitted. You must already know, so why didn't you tell the OP?
You see, the more information given in these sort of posts, the easier it is to answer without asking the obvious questions first.

Google ross tech and then the 8p section see if there is anything on there. Also, Ross-Tech is the manufacturer of vcds so what they don't know....

Facelift cars with 063 central electrics dont appear to allow hold button, start to roll up & let go, preface lift with seperate 279 module 09 & 46 433 conv module do allow, but 063 allows hold button & let go when roll up has completed.

No idea if the module is fitted. How must I already know? What is an OP?

That reply was aimed at Lee, which is why I quoted him. You don't know if the module is fitted unless you have VCDS or OBD11 which can read your car's modules and code them in some instances. By providing the model and age of your car, people like NHN have a better idea of what your car is fitted with and can advise you better.
Oh, and 'OP' is You (Original Poster).

09 is on cusp of the changeover, be interesting to know if it's 063 or 279 central electrics, I suspect the latter.

If you have vcds, what's the part number for module 09.

You can't code the car to roll up with one lock press, you have to hold the lock button until it starts, it's not possible without an aftermarket solution.

I have a 2009 sportback S Line and mine goes up or down with the remote by holding the lock or unlock button in and will stop when I let go.
I assumed they all did it.
Can’t remember the last vag vehicle I had that didn’t do it and I’ve had a few. 2 8p a3’s (2007 & 2009), golf (2000), Leon(2004), Leon (2013) and a 2013 vw transporter.

Yes, it's not gonna work with one press.

Press and hold the lock button to close all windows, press and hold the unlock button to open all windows together. The windows will keep moving as long as you hold the button down. Once you let go, the windows stop moving, whichever position they're in.

P.S. Looks like my second link (in my previous reply) did not work as that was link to a search. Sorry :-(

My car is an S3 2010 model and here is my module code ( HW: 8P0 907 063 A ) so if you have this then it should open / close on key fob as mine does

By holding the buttons constantly I assume.

He wants to do with one press & release, of which isn't possible.

Hi I’ve just been playing and have just enabled bit 6 in byte 3 in my convenience unit (comfort function automatic closing) and now when I lock the car and hold the button till the windows start moving I can stop pressing and they continue to close. So it’s almost there and is kinda possible.

I have an 08 Cabriolet and used Carista to make this possible on mine. You do however have to hold the unlock button down to open and the lock button to close, doesn’t do it automatically.

Hi I’ve not used Carista before I enabled that bit I used to have to hold the lock button to close and it would stop when I released it. Now however the holding of the lock button (or pressing it again and holding) starts the close and it continues even I i release the button until they are fully closed. Like I said before it’s not 100% there as I’d like it to just close from a single press but it’s a step in the right direction

Sweet glad that worked for you buddy. I’m still trying to see if I can get mine to do it without having to hold the button for a few seconds but it’s kind of a first world problem lol at least they close.

Sorry man I was also told that it wasn’t possible to have folding mirrors on remote and have still be able to use the mirror switch on the door card to fold them in when I want but I’ve done that. I was also told that it’s not possible to fit park assist to a 2004 A3 but I’ve done that. Just because someone hasn’t done it yet doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

I have folding mirrors on remote and on switch and i have an 8P model but had to get module reprogrammed to do that using Eeprom software , as to the the park assists on your model 2004 i wouldn't know about that and wish u every success in trying to get remote to work on single press , if you do your onto something big like getting an Android head unit to work as a plug n play
